The Dangerous Goods & Transportation Compliance Specialist (Gefahrgutbeauftragter) m/w/d is a newly created role that offers you the unique chance to shape dangerous goods and transportation compliance in Europe. You will establish best practices, identify compliance risks and potentials, and develop a scalable strategy that secures the long-term success of our European locations and contributes to the protection of water quality worldwide.

As a Dangerous Goods & Transportation Compliance Specialist w/m/d, you will ensure that our international supply chains function reliably, safely, and in compliance with regulations. You will play a key role in implementing the EU-PIC Regulation (EC No 649/2012), integrate regulatory requirements into our operational processes, and support our teams in implementing complex requirements clearly and pragmatically.

The position is ideally based in Berlin. However, we are also excited about applications from qualified German/English speaking candidates from other regions in Germany or Europe.

What you will achieve with us:

• You will be responsible for implementing the requirements of the EU-PIC Regulation (EC No 649/2012) and ensure compliance with all relevant chemical and dangerous goods regulations.
• You will create and process export notifications as well as explicit consent applications in the ECHA ePIC system and manage the associated RINs.
• You will review safety data sheets (SDS), evaluate CLP classifications, and monitor regulatory changes.
• You will ensure compliance with dangerous goods regulations (ADR, RID, ADN, IMDG, IATA) and check packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.
• You will create legally required reports, conduct internal audits, and lead improvement measures.
• You will support departments with regulatory issues and actively participate in optimizing our processes. You will identify improvement potentials and implement sustainable solutions in our European business areas.
• You will develop and conduct training programs on dangerous goods, transport compliance, and hazardous material management (hazmat).
• You will work closely with teams from supply chain, logistics, operations, regulatory affairs, and trade compliance across Europe.

What you bring with you:

• Completed degree, in-depth knowledge in chemical and dangerous goods law
• Experience with the EU-PIC Regulation and ideally with the ECHA ePIC system
• Good knowledge of relevant dangerous goods regulations (ADR, RID, ADN, IMDG and/or IATA)
• Analytical thinking and a structured, self-driven way of working
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive compliance initiatives without direct authority
• Strong consulting mindset and ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business solutions
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of collaborating with different business functions
• Very good German and good English language skills
