  • Works with VP of Racing to analyze official past performance records to create and arrange races between horses of equal experience and ability.
  • Confers with VP of Racing to plan types of races to schedule and to determine purse for each race
  • Reviews application requesting permission to enter and train horse for competition
  • Accepts application and entry fees from owners-trainers
  • Registers names of persons having financial interest in horse
  • Reviews racing information to be published in newspaper, racing form, and daily racing program
  • Directs activities of workers engaged in duties such as compiling racing information and assigning stable space
  • Records information regarding official racing result to keep file on each horse's ability
  • Observes race to study ability and form of horse, verifies selection of entries
  • Acts as liaison with horsemen on racing related matters
  • Write condition books for all racing programs
  • Verify eligibility of horses for racing programs
  • Write conditions and schedule the daily racing programs presented at the track

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years' experience in the racing industry
  • Read, write legibly, understand and speak English
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word)
  • Must be licensed with Ohio State Racing Commission
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
  • Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
  • Incompass Software Experience Required.
