Job description

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Help achieve high levels of profitable growth on all assigned shipments by proactively analyzing order for overages and shortages, assisting in cycle and inventory counts, inspecting delivers for damage making note of any damages and advising managers of findings, reconciling and confirming the accuracy of paperwork before releasing product, and maintaining security levels throughout the warehouse at all times.
  • Maintain records and work environment to comply with regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Actively participate in all training opportunities, completing 100% of all trainings on time.
  • Update and verify information for inbound or outbound shipments in WMS which includes but is not limited to weight, dimensions, and pictures according to SOP.
  • Insure security standards are followed at all time and report any irregularities.
  • Knowledge of dispatching and warehouse operations with cargo handling.
  • Ability to commute to the DFW airport for cargo inspections.
  • Receive, load, unload cargo to and from trucks, efficiently and safely, ensuring paperwork is correct and checking for damages and shipping discrepancies - overages or shortages and reporting any findings to management.
  • Organize, maintain, and administer the warehouse floor space, maintaining work environment to comply with all regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Prepare and palletize cargo, perform data entry, assist in cycle and physical inventory counts, monitor inventory levels, temporarily store and repackage product per customer and district operations directives, print labels, and maintain records as required.
  • Assure proper handling and delivery of cargo and operations of related equipment.
  • Follow DG, HAZMAT, or other regulations and requirements and comply with all SOPs and MEC policies.
  • Proactively assist other members of MEC to help MEC achieve its vision and strategic goals.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required.
  • 1 year of experience working in a warehouse, previous experience working with a freight forwarder preferred.
  • Experience working with a WMS, RF scanner, and basic computer.
  • Must be able to work rotating weekends.
  • Must be able to work overtime based on the business needs.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and capable of performing repetitive tasks.
  • Effective time management and organization skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision and in a team environment.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, manage risk, work safely, deal with issues as they arise, and effectively problem solve.
  • Able to follow standard operating procedures and company policies and provide input for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. and maneuver packages of weights above 50 lbs. using equipment or the assistance of another person.
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, squat, kneel, reach, climb, push, and pull for 8 hours per day.
  • Must be comfortable working in changing environment, temperatures, with exposure to pollen, dust, dander, and other elements.
  • Must have a clean driving record, valid auto insurance, and valid driver's license.
