Job Summary:

The Principal Software Engineer, D365 will play a critical, senior role within the D365 Engineering team (a part of Cat Digital Dealer and Rental Systems), reporting to the Senior Manager Software Engineering, D365. This role will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise solutions with focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) - Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management and Commerce with additional support on D365 Customer Engagement (CE) products. This role will serve as a technical authority, driving architectural decisions, developing complex solutions, and collaborating cross-functionally with product, integration, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and other development teams to ensure high-quality solutions and applications.

What You Will Do:

  • Design, develop, and implement complex solutions within Dynamics 365

  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and other engineers on technical strategy and ensure alignment with business goals and product roadmap

  • Ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering and DevOps

  • Foster a development culture of innovation and excellence

  • Stay current with Microsoft technologies and industry trends to inform strategic decisions

What You Will Have:

Software Development:

  • Has participated in development of large software products, including upgrades and migrations.

  • Estimates and monitors development costs based on functional and technical requirements.

  • Provides consulting on both selection and utilization of developers' workbench tools.

Software Development Life Cycle:

  • Describes similarities and differences of life cycle for new product development vs. new release.

  • Works with a formal life cycle methodology.

  • Interprets product development plans and functional documentation.

Software Integration Engineering:

  • Has experience with designing data exchange interfaces to and from software product.

  • Describes tools and techniques for extraction, transformation and loading of electronic data.

  • Works with integrating software into the customer or partner framework and infrastructure.

  • Participates in the development of technology interfaces and bridges.

Software Product Design/Architecture:

  • Demonstrates experience with the architecture and design of major projects.

  • Describes major software architecture alternatives and considerations.

  • Analyzes benefits and drawbacks of specific software designs and architecture.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale enterprise software projects.

  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and agile methodologies.

  • Expert level experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $240,110.00
