Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Cybersecurity Analyst opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.
Position Summary:
This position supports cybersecurity compliance, risk management, and information system security activities within a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements plans for establishing and maintaining risk management approach documentation in compliance with DOE Order 205.1B, Chg. 2, the DOE Cyber Security Program, and the DOE Office of Environmental Management Cyber Security Policy and Risk Management Approach Implementation Plan.
  • Evaluates and manages cybersecurity risk to protect information and information systems from unacceptable adverse impacts. Provides recommendations to senior management regarding changes or enhancements to cybersecurity safeguards when appropriate.
  • Reports to the Information Technology Manager.
  • Creates, reviews, and validates cybersecurity policies, plans, standards, procedures, and supporting documentation to ensure alignment with applicable DOE cybersecurity requirements.
  • Conducts and documents recurring cybersecurity assessments of information systems in support of the Self-Assessment Program, while remaining informed of emerging threats and vulnerabilities that could affect those systems.
  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date Cybersecurity Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) and provides required updates to the appropriate Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Prepares Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) and Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation for submission to the Authorizing Official (AO).
  • Plans and coordinates cybersecurity inspections, testing activities, and reviews to support compliance and system security.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in a cybersecurity role supporting a Department of Energy (DOE) project.
  • Experience working with DOE Cybersecurity directives and their application to unclassified, sensitive unclassified, and classified information systems.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows Server operating systems and communication protocols.

  • United States Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security Clearance
