X-Lab Cybersecurity Engineer

The Boeing Company is looking for an X-Lab Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.

Boeing's Missile Defense Program is seeking motivated and talented professionals to join its ranks. These positions will support the performance of cybersecurity engineering efforts for the National Team Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Programs & Networks. Missile Defense programs are part of the Ballistic Missile Defense System which defends the United States homeland and its regional allies all over the world. The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications Experimentation Laboratory (C2BMC X-Lab) is a very fast paced and dynamic environment. The X-Lab is responsible for developing and integrating future-capability prototypes for the Missile Defense System, including Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development and other critical leading-edge missile defense technologies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will be responsible for tuning and optimizing cybersecurity tools such as ESS, Elastic, ConfigOS, and Tanium to enhance system performance and threat detection capabilities.
  • The candidate will all be responsible for creating custom dashboards to visualize security data, ensuring quick identification of issues and trends.
  • Integrate carious security products, ensuring seamless communication and data flows across the infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to these tools, as well as managing upgrades and deployments to ensure the latest features and security patches are implemented effectively.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Colorado Springs, CO.)

This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities.

This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control board.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • Minimum active IAT Level II/IAM Level 1 DoD 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or similar) required at start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Windows/RHEL System Admin including installing, tuning & troubleshooting Cyber Tools to include ESS/HBSS, ConfigOS, Splunk/Elastic, etc.
  • Experience configuring, running and scripting audit tools- Knowledge of Software Assurance (SwA) static and dynamic code analysis (e.g. Fortify)
