Winthrop Position Title
Student Cyber Systems Administrator-Fall 2026
Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to be a System Administrator for the Cyber Security Lab technology used in the computing programs at Winthrop.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties performed in this position will encompass setting up and configuring computing servers and network architecture for the cyber security and computing infrastructure. In addition, creating tools and installing software used in the program. This position will also require the student to work with system hardware including lifting up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications
Preferred students that have taken CSCI 224 or other CSCI coursework; however, students that may have strong server, network, operating system or programming skills would be considered.
Preferred Skills
Students that have some experience working with technology such as computers, operating systems, writing tools, bash scripting, linux, python,network administration and system administrative skills. In addition, students must have a stong passion for technology, and exhibit self-learning ability to take on many of these tasks.
