As an I&C Technician - Mobile you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal operation, reliability, and safety of our clients' most vital infrastructure and critical facilities. You will be instrumental in the installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of complex industrial control systems, instrumentation, and associated equipment within powerhouse environments. This is a mobile position servicing our client's Powerhouse locations in East Hartford, Middletown and Windsor Locks. You will leave from home daily, using a company-provided van, tools, purchasing cards, uniforms, phone, and laptop/tablet
What You'll Do:
• Perform calibrations and adjustments for numerous calibration devices, typically in the temperature, humidity, pressure, physical dimensional, torque, force, and electrical disciplines.
• Maintain proper documentation, which includes but is not limited to the metrology database, calibration certificates, equipment history forms, timesheets, and automated calibration software.
• Conduct self-studies to improve and maintain technical proficiency in calibration theory, methods, and equipment.
• Communicate to customers as it relates to the progress of the testing, repair, and services.
• Accompany senior staff members to locations and calibrate equipment on-site.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
What You'll Need:
• Required Education and Experience : High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
