Job Overview

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will help protect information systems and networks by supporting security assessments, vulnerability management, risk analysis, compliance activities, and continuous monitoring efforts. You will collaborate with engineers, system administrators, and project teams to identify security risks, implement safeguards, and ensure systems meet security requirements throughout their lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Implement and support cybersecurity measures for information systems, networks, and applications
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity controls and safeguards
  • Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk analyses
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities
  • Assist in developing and maintaining cybersecurity documentation, including security plans, procedures, and reports
  • Monitor compliance with cybersecurity policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Support continuous monitoring activities and security posture assessments
  • Investigate cybersecurity events and incidents and assist with response and remediation efforts
  • Coordinate with engineers, system administrators, and project teams to incorporate cybersecurity requirements throughout the system lifecycle
  • Support the implementation of cybersecurity tools, technologies, and protective measures
  • Maintain awareness of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity best practices

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, information security, cybersecurity engineering, system security, or a related field
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and industry best practices
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and cybersecurity compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and security assessment methodologies
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate cybersecurity risks
  • Ability to interpret and apply security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to prepare technical documentation and reports
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required
  • Must meet applicable DoD 8140 workforce qualification requirements if required by contract

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs
  • Experience supporting RMF, A&A, or continuous monitoring activities
  • Experience performing vulnerability assessments and security compliance reviews
  • Experience supporting incident response and remediation activities
  • Experience working in highly regulated or mission-critical environments
