Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Travelers is seeking a Senior Cyber Insurance Architect to join our organization as we grow and transform our Enterprise Technology Solutions organization. Our Architects are responsible for designing and guiding the technology vision that enables business transformation, specializing in creating enterprise-wide solutions that bridge current capabilities with future possibilities. This strategic position requires expertise in cloud-native technologies, APIs, AI/ML, and emerging platforms to establish scalable architectures where business applications can evolve and thrive. The ideal candidate orchestrates the technical strategy that empowers development teams - defining target states, creating technology roadmaps, and establishing architectural frameworks that accelerate innovation while maintaining standards and governance. As the essential bridge between business strategy and technical implementation, this role directly impacts organizational agility, system integration, and the enterprise's ability to rapidly adapt and scale technology solutions across the business landscape.What Will You Do?
  • Define and drive the target state architecture for integrating Specialty Cyber (SC) products into the Specialty Insurance (SI) domain model, aligning technology and business stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
  • Establish target state for existing SC assets (Digital integration, Policy holder portal, Risk Services etc.) aligned to broader BSI target state. Drive transition states in partnership with SC Tech
  • Lead the re-architecture of the Scan platform for SI integration and performance.
  • Guide Cyber product integration and migration into the Guidewire-based Strategic Platform, including Crowbar migration and next-gen risk signal integration.
  • Navigate complex relationships across Technology, Business and Executive leadership to align architecture priorities with business imperatives and BSI Cyber strategic goals.
  • Ensure effective adoption & scaling of go forward SC components & data flows into the SP paradigm.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Technical Expertise & Education:
  • Bachelor's in technology related field or equivalent, with 8 years of architecture experience.
  • Strong architecture and recent hands-on engineering experience with modern technologies.
  • Successfully architected large scale technology initiatives.
  • Leadership & Influence:
  • Advanced leadership skills with the ability to take action even when there is no clear owner, inspire and motivate others, and be effective at influencing team members.
  • Strategic & Business Acumen:
  • Extensive experience working an agile operational model.
  • Experience supporting transformational change. Able to adjust plans, priorities and strategies in response to changing circumstances.
  • Insurance technology experience preferred.
  • Understanding of value creation and business capability models.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Experience in identifying and analyzing current/future problems and opportunities, evaluating information to understand root causes, and exploring alternative solutions for effective decision-making.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with teammates to achieve mutually responsible results.
  • Extensive experience exercising sound judgment, making decisions and committing to a position.
  • Strong and effective verbal, written and listening communication skills.

What is a Must Have?
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in education and/or work experience.
  • 6 additional years of architecture/software engineering experience.
