Job Summary:
MITRE is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to tackling the nation's toughest challenges, including cybersecurity. The Senior Cyber Operations Engineer will advance adversary emulation, threat emulation, and red teaming development while supporting critical projects to enhance cyber defense for government sponsors.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Use your skills as an offensive engineer and knowledge of adversary behaviors to build and emulate the cutting-edge capabilities of real-world threats
โ€ข Use AI to advance the state of the art in cyber operations, purple teaming, and cyber threat intelligence
โ€ข Use your understanding of cyber intelligence to build products, perform R&D, and help sponsors solve their hardest CTI problems
โ€ข Propose and lead research to improve the state of the art of cyber operations
โ€ข Participate in, define, or lead offensive security engagements to show blue teams how to respond to real-world adversaries
โ€ข Use your knowledge of adversary behavior to advance ATT&CK, Caldera, and other MITRE efforts
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree and 5 years of relevant experience; or the equivalent combination of higher education and real-world experience
โ€ข Experience creating and using offensive security tools, malware implants, and other red team capabilities in one or more programming languages.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to independently deliver adversary emulation capabilities.
โ€ข Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting technical analysis in written products and presentations
โ€ข This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Top Secret
โ€ข Per the U.S. Governmentโ€™s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
โ€ข This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site
Preferred:
โ€ข Knowledge of ATT&CK, Caldera, ATT&CK Evaluations, and MITREโ€™s work in offensive security
โ€ข Experience in cyber threat intelligence, including using threat intelligence to define red team capabilities
