This role works as a field-embedded extension of the MEP/Cx Site Superintendent and helps drive coordination, tracking, documentation, startup readiness, and turnover support across assigned MEP scopes.

This role reports to the Director of MEP / Commissioning (Cx) and works closely with project management, field teams, trade partners, vendors, owners, and commissioning stakeholders to help ensure systems are installed, tracked, tested, and turned over in alignment with project requirements. This position is designed for individuals looking to build the field leadership, technical judgment, and execution discipline required to grow into future MEP/Cx Site Superintendent responsibilities.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for opportunities in Northern Virginia, West Texas, Charlotte, NC, and Kansas City, MO.

OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support day-to-day MEP field execution across assigned areas, workfronts, and system priorities.
  • Coordinate with the MEP/Cx Site Superintendent, GC site teams, trade partners, and vendors to maintain field alignment and execution flow.
  • Assist with equipment receipt, tagging, storage compliance, and installation readiness for major MEP assets.
  • Help identify field conflicts, constructability issues, and sequencing problems; elevate issues with clear documentation and recommended follow-up.

Schedule, Tracking & Documentation (30%)

  • Support short-range planning, look-aheads, and milestone tracking in alignment with the master project schedule.
  • Track field progress, open items, and execution constraints that may impact energization, startup, or turnover dates.
  • Maintain organized field documentation, issue logs, status reporting, and turnover records.
  • Help manage equipment status and project tracking tools, including digital field and commissioning platforms.

Startup, Turnover & QA/QC Support (20%)

  • Support startup planning, turnover readiness, and closeout activities across assigned MEP systems.
  • Help confirm field readiness for energization and startup, including installation completion, access, and documentation status.
  • Assist with startup witnesses, deficiency tracking, closeout actions, and turnover package support.
  • Support QA/QC walks, punch resolution, and field verification activities tied to system readiness.

Communication & Professional Development (15%)

  • Participate in coordination meetings, site walks, and planning sessions with project stakeholders.
  • Communicate status, risks, and follow-up items clearly to the MEP/Cx Site Superintendent and project leadership.
  • Work safely and professionally in active construction environments while supporting disciplined field execution practices.
  • Develop the judgment, technical understanding, and field leadership capability needed to grow into future site leadership roles.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 25 years of experience in construction, field engineering, project engineering, or field coordination roles within mission-critical, data center, or complex MEP/Cx construction environments
  • Related degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of construction sequencing, field coordination, QA/QC, startup, and turnover workflows
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, schedules, and field documentation
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through in fast-paced project environments
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to coordinate with field leadership, trade partners, vendors, and project stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and digital field / commissioning tools preferred
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, operate in the field, and grow into increasing responsibility over time
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, hyperscale, colocation, or other technically complex projects is preferred
  • Military veteran experience in relevant leadership or technical roles is highly valued

MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid drivers license and ability to rent vehicles
  • Full-time, daily presence at the assigned project site is expected for the duration of the project
  • Willingness and availability to work extended hours, weekends, and night shifts during critical construction, energization, startup, testing, and turnover windows
  • North Virginia is a priority hiring market for this role
