Job Description
  • Review of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) design documents such as drawings, specifications ("specs"), Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), and Basis of Design (BOD) to evaluate energy efficiency.
  • Perform measurement, verification, commissioning, and retro-commissioning.
  • Provide, prepare, and develop Pre-Functional and Functional testing forms in compliance with green building practices.
  • Collect data for energy conservation analyses, using jobsite observation, field inspections, and submetering.
  • Conduct periodic site visits for observation and acceptance of Pre-Functional tests.
  • Inspect and monitor energy-related systems, including heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, power distribution, domestic hot water, and pumping to determine energy use and potential energy savings.
  • Witness Functional testing on site to verify the proper installation and programming of new or relocated equipment and systems per green building practices.
  • Prepare project reports and related documentation.
  • Prepare documents such as Current Facility Requirement (CFR) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) plans, Systems Manuals, Ongoing Commissioning (Cx) plans, Cx summary reports, etc.
  • Conduct Post-Occupancy reviews after project substantial completion.

Qualifications
  • Minimum requires bachelor's degree major in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering - or foreign degree equivalent - plus 2 years of training in mechanical systems, building design, and construction. As an alternative, an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training is acceptable
  • 2 years of experience in Commissioning services.
  • Requires LEED certification AP or candidates who are eligible to be certified by GBCI.
  • Requires ability to use Bluebeam, Procore, BlueRithm, Building Management Systems, handheld test equipment such as temperature/humidity meters, light meters, etc.
  • Requires 50% of work time to visit various project sites located in south Florida (Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties)
