Job Summary
The Tampa Bay Vets Externship program is intended to provide an in-hospital learning opportunity for veterinary students who are interested in furthering their education and who are planning a future in our field.
Job responsibilities
Externs will be able to work with patients, alongside our veterinary team members. Typical programs last 2 to 6 weeks based on the student's availability and the school's requirements. Participants will be provided the chance to work with patients and clientele and to participate in procedures associated with routine and urgent care situations.
We strongly encourage our externs to :
  • Be self-motivated
  • Ask questions
  • Be proactive in their on-site education.
  • Have a high sense of urgency with regard to client satisfaction and timely patient care
  • Have good communication throughout the program so all expectations stay aligned
