Our team in Industrial Group Slip Ring and Marine is looking for a Cost and Value Engineer (CVE) to join them. You will report to the Manager, Operations and will have an onsite work schedule in Christiansburg, VA.
As a Cost and Value Engineer, you will drive initiatives to maximize product value while minimizing costs throughout the entire product life cycle. You will be a key contributor to the business capture and planning phase, where you will bridge the gap between technical engineering and financial viability. By leveraging bottom-up CVE methodologies, you will lead cross-functional teams to set optimization targets, evaluate technical solutions, and prepare robust cost data for new business proposals.
As a Cost and Value Engineer (CVE), you will:
  • Cost Optimization & Strategy: Apply the CVE methodologies to identify, evaluate, and realize cost potential. Lead process and technology optimization at suppliers along the value chain.
  • Proposal Coordination: Support and coordinate the efforts of cost estimating teams. Gather, correlate, and translate technical inputs into proposal cost data for use in critical pricing decisions.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct concept evaluations and development-related costs, focusing primarily on design-for-cost and design-for-assembly fundamentals.
  • Data Stewardship: Analyze and assemble historical data for follow-on business proposals, ensuring all calculations are reasonable, transparent, and objective.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Contribute to CVE strategic topics in close cooperation with Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Supplier Quality Management.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate estimating results clearly to those responsible for customer pricing and executive leadership within critical time constraints.

To be considered for the Cost and Value Engineer (CVE) , here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or finance, with a minimum of 3 years in a project-oriented, or manufacturing support role.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, mechanical drawings, and 3D models.
  • Proven track record in bottom-up cost calculations and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and Office tools (PowerPoint/Excel).
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation competence with the ability to "assert" value-driven decisions.
  • High-level moderation and presentation abilities for executive-level reviews.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines during the business capture phase.
  • Travel: Approximately 10%, Domestic and/or International

Salary Range Transparency:
Christiansburg, VA $77,000.00-$95,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
