About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join our Customs Brokerage team in Torrance. This role is responsible for preparing and transmitting U.S. Customs entries while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs, FDA, and other Partner Government Agency (PGA) regulations. The ideal candidate has strong experience handling FDA-regulated food imports, working in netCHB, and managing the customs clearance process from arrival through release.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and transmit customs entries using netCHB.
- Process FDA-regulated food imports and ensure compliance with all import requirements.
- Coordinate FDA filings and resolve holds, exams, and documentation issues.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices, and other import documentation.
- Classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure accurate duty assessment.
- Communicate with importers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs officials, and government agencies to expedite cargo clearance.
- Monitor shipments, identify potential clearance issues, and proactively resolve delays.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and customs documentation.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, FDA, PGA, and all applicable import regulations.
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of U.S. Customs Entry Writing experience.
- Experience processing FDA-regulated food imports is required.
- Hands-on experience with FDA filings, examinations, and import compliance.
- Proficiency with netCHB is required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, FDA requirements, and PGA processes.
- Understanding of international freight forwarding and customs brokerage operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Tagalog or Mandarin language skills are preferred but not required.
