Job Summary

The Manager of Trauma Programs 1 works with the Medical Director to set up and evaluate the trauma program. They oversee clinical care, education, research, and registry maintenance to meet regulations.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Manage the trauma team to coordinate and deliver comprehensive care, ensuring top quality at all stages.
  • Keep track of trauma cases, ensuring adherence to established protocols during patient care.
  • Guide the administrative and financial operations within the trauma department, including overseeing team performance.
  • Collaborate with key partners to devise and update strategic plans and policies.
  • Act as a consultant and mentor, sharing your knowledge to improve multidisciplinary trauma care.
  • Spearhead initiatives in trauma education, injury prevention, and community engagement.
  • Promote research and contribute to publications when necessary.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-related medical terminology and treatment guidelines.
  • Awareness and understanding of current laws, meeting regulatory standards, and adhering to medical ethics.
  • Highly effective communication skills and the ability to competently manage care plans.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Have at least (3) three years of relevant experience.
  • Possess a valid Registered Nursing license (RN)
  • Certifications include:
    • Abbr. Injury Scale (AAAM AIS): AAAM AIS Course required within (12) twelve months of hire
    • (ACLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
    • Trauma Outcomes & Performance (TOPIC): TOPIC within (12) twelve months.
    • Emergency Nrs Pediatric (ENPC), Pedi Adv Life Support (PALS): PALS in (30) thirty days or ENPC in (180) one hundred and eighty days.
    • RN- Advanced Trauma Care (ATCN), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC): ATCN or TNCC within (180) one hundred and eighty days
    • Critical Care RN (CCRN), Critical Care - Pediatrics (CCRN-PED), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN), Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN), Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN): Obtain CCRN, CCRN-PED, CEN, CPEN, CPN, or TCRN within (12) twelve months of hire.
