Job description

For over 80 years, MacDonald Meat Company has been a supplier of high-quality meat and seafood products to the wholesale food service industry, servicing the finest restaurants, hotels, retailers and specialty food operations in Washington. MacDonald Meat Company, founded in 1933, has built our reputation on providing quality products and today our delivery area includes all Western Washington and surrounding areas.

MacDonald Meat Company has seen tremendous growth and as a result is looking to add on to our team. Our company is looking for an Customer Service Representative to continue grow and manage our customer base. A customer service representative will play the key role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects and closing sales. This role will develop the required skills to become a Sales Representative and will help teach a key understanding of the sales process and dynamics, and superb interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a meat or seafood sales role is an advantage.

Customer Service Representative Responsibilities:

· Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead, outbound cold calls and emails

· Understand customer needs and requirements

· Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest

· Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory

· Team with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals

· Maintain existing customer relationships to increase business

· Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations

· Preparing monthly sales department reports

· Perform effective online demos to prospects

· Obtaining deposits and balance of payment from clients

· Entering orders and preparing routing sheets

· Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices and availability

· Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure

Customer Service Representative Requirements:

· Experience in sales of meat or seafood experience an asset

· A commitment to excellent customer service

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers

· Detailed oriented

· Experience using computers for a variety of tasks
