Job description

Operations Assistant Manager - VPC

We are looking for an organized and energetic Operations Assistant Manager who assist in overseeing all activities related to GLOVIS VPC operations. This position will provide leadership and guidance to ensure customer satisfaction is met and exceeded. The Assistant Manager will directly supervise Glovis EV’s staff to ensure development and company goals and standards. A key focus of the role will be to enforce compliance standards and requirements, while ensuring all customer services are timely, and quality expectations are met.

Department: Vehicle Processing Center (VPC)

Reports to: Operations Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift

(Rotating weekends and overtime may be required) (Schedule is subject to further change based on production requirements


Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily operations for staff on-site including performance management and employee development.
  • Determine head count needs to meet production goals.
  • Review production plans with Operations team for vehicle output and guidance.
  • Review vessel schedule to determine vehicle storage capacity.
  • Implement vehicle processing improvements.
  • Perform personnel functions such as selection, training, or evaluation.
  • Monitor performance of organizational members or partners.
  • Manage profits and loss to meet Quarterly and Annual business plan targets.
  • Lead efforts to maximize efficiencies, optimize service, and meet business plan objectives at Glovis EA ports.
  • Use thorough knowledge of all phases of the business to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
  • Take a hands-on approach to gain direct knowledge in order to validate and/or improve current processes and procedures.
  • Verify cost recovery.
  • With a complete understanding of Glovis EA cost and revenue structures, ensure all activities that generate costs to Glovis EA are recoverable and appropriately invoiced.
  • Develop monthly and annual business plans for financial and production.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum of 5 years Operations experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Operations management system experience highly preferred.
  • Database management system experience.
  • Must be able to direct work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to adapt to change.
  • Must possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability.


This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and transport items. The estimated base salary range for this job is $86,000-$90,000. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
