Customer Logistics Supervisor

Location: Olathe/Lenexa, KS
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $38.94/hour

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Customer Logistics Supervisor to join our team for a one-year temporary assignment, with the possibility of permanent employment based on performance and business needs. This role is responsible for overseeing daily transportation and logistics operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading a team of drivers and coordinators to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, resolving shipping delays, damages, discrepancies, and service issues in a timely manner.
  • Lead daily transportation and distribution operations, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and shipping activities while maintaining on-time, zero-defect deliveries.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop drivers and logistics coordinators by establishing performance expectations, conducting evaluations, and creating schedules that support business demands.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers and transportation partners to secure competitive shipping rates, monitor shipment status, and address transit-related issues.
  • Monitor and analyze key logistics performance metrics, including On-Time Delivery and Cost-to-Serve, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Foster a safe, productive, and customer-focused work environment while supporting company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within transportation, logistics, distribution, warehousing, or a similar fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience managing hourly employees and commercial drivers.
  • Strong background in scheduling, dispatching, and workforce planning.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and with external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with strong overall computer skills.
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, motivate, and hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive team culture.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and support extended business hours during peak operational periods.
  • Familiarity with ELD and Fleet Management Systems such as WebTM, Geotab, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements preferred.
