Job description

Overview: Future Cities Development was founded in summer of 2011 with the mission of bettering humanity by creating free societies. We are aggressively targeting a very promising near-term opportunity to develop a new city on unsettled land, working closely with a sovereign government who wishes to create economic opportunity for their citizens.
Purpose:
• Identify prospective tenants (target industries, companies, or developers) which will be interested in locating in the city.
• Build relationships with prospective tenants to supply data that informs our own development efforts.
• Close deals with tenants that provide the investment and backing to get the charter city off the ground.
Responsibilities:
• Work with partners & staff to understand FCD's unique value offering.
• Manage external consulting firms doing work to supplement market research.
• Do independent research to identify business opportunities & identify target markets.
• Talk to real estate developers and potential tenants to get them excited about this opportunity, learn their requirements, establish and maintain relationships.
• Document FCD's value offering in a way that is compelling to prospective tenants.
• Use the information gathered via relationships with potential customers to inform product development - site selection, lease & rules design, etc.
• Secure high-quality, non-binding LOIs ($100M+ over the next several months), with the expectation that 25% or more will turn into actual developments.
• Close initial customers to binding development deals.
Experience:
We are looking for a candidate with experience in:
• Customer Development (any field).
• Sales (real estate ideal, but any field OK).
• Entrepreneurship (understands how potential customers think).
• Real estate development
• Some potential target industries for our city (tourism, light manufacturing, medical research & tourism, etc.)
It's also very important that all of our team members are deeply passionate about our mission - many of us have been thinking and working in this area for 10+ years and have incredible enthusiasm.
This is a full-time position. We prefer this individual be in San Francisco, CA (the site of our largest office), but our team is based around the world, and this position may be based anywhere
