Job description

Help Shape the Future of Claims Processing

At FEDPOINT, we are transforming the future of claims operations through data-driven decision making and automation. We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Claims Data Analytics Intern to support strategic initiatives focused on straight-through processing and operational efficiency.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with real claims and service data, uncover trends, and provide insights that directly influence business decisions and customer experience improvements.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Claims Data Analytics Intern, you will perform data analysis and trend identification to support one or more of the following initiatives:

  • Auto adjudication justification and opportunity analysis
  • Invoice arrival pattern analysis by provider
  • Evaluation of invoice submission methods (web vs. traditional) and their impact on Customer Service inbound call types and frequency
  • Identification of IVR self-service opportunities through claims and call trend analysis
  • Duplicate invoice trend analysis and reporting

You will work closely with Claims Operations and business stakeholders to analyze data related to invoice submission, payment processing, and service interactions.

Why This Role Matters

As FEDPOINT continues moving toward straight-through processing, understanding invoice submission and processing trends is critical to evaluating ROI and operational opportunities.

Currently, the Claims team does not have dedicated resources to perform deep-dive analysis across arrival, payment, and service datasets. The insights and reporting developed through this internship will serve as a foundation for validating assumptions, improving efficiencies, and supporting future automation strategies.

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in data analytics, operations, or business intelligence
  • Experience with Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools preferred
  • Ability to interpret trends and communicate findings clearly
  • Attention to detail and intellectual curiosity
  • Pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field
What You’ll Gain
  • Hands-on experience working with operational and claims data
  • Exposure to automation and process improvement initiatives
  • Opportunities to present findings to business leaders
  • Experience supporting strategic operational decisions
  • Real-world analytics experience in a fast-paced business environment

Join FEDPOINT and help drive smarter, faster, and more efficient claims operations through data and innovation.

Why Join Us?

At FedPoint, our mission is to create and deliver world-class benefits experiences for our customers, clients, and business partners.

We offer a dynamic work environment where innovation and collaboration are encouraged. You'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact while honing your skills and advancing your career.
