Job description

Salary: Based on experience

The Event Fabrication Painter is responsible for the preparation, painting, finishing, and maintenance of Fauxcades inventory and custom fabrication pieces. This role focuses on hands-on production work including painting walls, bars, props, and custom-built elements used in events.

This position requires experience with interior and exterior painting techniques, surface prep, and finishing methods to ensure all items meet Fauxcades quality standards.


WHAT YOULL ACTUALLY BE DOING

  • Paint and finish event inventory items (walls, bars, panels, props, custom builds)
  • Perform surface prep including sanding, filling, priming, and repairs
  • Execute interior & exterior-style paint techniques adapted for fabrication materials
  • Apply consistent, high-quality finishes for client-facing event pieces
  • Handle touch-ups, repairs, and refinishing of returned inventory
  • Work with custom fabrication team on new builds and modifications


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Production & Painting

  • Prep surfaces using sanding, fillers, and primers for a smooth, durable finish
  • Paint inventory and custom builds using rollers, brushes, and spray systems
  • Apply finishes including paint, stain, sealers, and protective coatings
  • Ensure color consistency and clean application across all pieces
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe paint workspace


Inventory Maintenance

  • Inspect returned items for damage, wear, and repaint needs
  • Complete touch-ups and repairs to maintain rental-ready quality
  • Support processing of items in the damaged inventory zone
  • Assist with wrapping, labeling, and prepping items for outbound jobs


Collaboration

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Fabrication team on new builds
  • Communicate material needs and project progress clearly
  • Assist with prioritizing paint work based on upcoming event schedules


GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Arrive on time and ready to work
  • Maintain strong attention to detail in both warehouse and on-site work
  • Communicate professionally with team members and leadership
  • Take initiative and stay productive without constant supervision
  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures
  • Be open to cross-training in other production areas

Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM - 8:00PM (Hours may vary based on event schedules includes weekend work)


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with interior and/or exterior painting
  • Strong understanding of paint types, finishes, and surface prep
  • Ability to cut clean lines, roll evenly, and maintain consistency
  • Experience with sanding, filling (Bondo, wood filler, putty), and prep work
  • Basic knowledge of staining and sealing techniques


PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience using paint sprayers / spray rigs
  • Familiarity with painting wood, MDF, metal, and fabricated surfaces
  • Basic tool knowledge (drills, staple guns, saws, etc.)
  • Experience in set design, fabrication, or event production (huge plus)
