Job description

 Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Shop Fabrication Welder to join our fabrication team. This role focuses on welding and fabricating metal components in a shop setting according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate takes pride in clean welds, accurate measurements, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and weld metal parts and assemblies in a shop environment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders
  • Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Core welding as required
  • Measure, cut, fit, tack, and weld metal components accurately
  • Grind, finish, and inspect welds to meet quality standards
  • Use fabrication tools such as saws, grinders, drills, and presses
  • Maintain welding equipment and report maintenance needs
  • Follow shop safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and production-ready
  • Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines
  • Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous shop fabrication or welding experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (tape measure, square, calipers)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

  • Welding certifications (AWS or similar)
  • Experience with structural steel or custom fabrication
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience
