R&S Lowndes Management is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Culinary Arts Instructor to join the team at the Pine Knot Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in beautiful Pine Knot, Kentucky.

Position Summary
The Culinary Arts Instructor is responsible for providing both classroom and hands-on culinary instruction while preparing students for successful careers in the culinary and hospitality industries. This role combines professional cooking experience with education, leadership, and mentorship in a dynamic learning environment.
The successful candidate will teach students proper food preparation techniques, kitchen safety, sanitation practices, menu planning, and professional culinary skills while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive kitchen.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom and hands-on instruction in culinary arts.
  • Demonstrate professional cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals while teaching proper culinary procedures.
  • Develop lesson plans and practical culinary training exercises.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Teach proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain inventory and assist with ordering kitchen supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Professional experience working as a Cook, Chef, Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or in a related culinary position.

  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and commercial kitchen operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
