Job Overview:


WilliamSmith Fireplaces of SC LLC is seeking a Chimney & Fireplace Sweeper to join our team. We specialize in providing top-quality fireplace and chimney services for both residential and commercial clients. This position requires expertise in chimney sweeping, inspection, and maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, customer service, and craftsmanship. While CSIA certification is a plus, it is not required-we are willing to provide training and support the right candidate in obtaining industry certifications.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform chimney sweeping, cleaning, and maintenance for residential and commercial clients.
  • Inspect chimneys, fireplaces, and venting systems for blockages, creosote buildup, and structural issues.
  • Identify and repair minor chimney and fireplace problems, ensuring safe operation.
  • Provide expert recommendations to customers regarding necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with fire codes and safety regulations.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely, including brushes, vacuums, and cameras for inspections.
  • Educate customers on chimney safety, maintenance best practices, and proper fireplace operation.
  • Maintain accurate service records and provide detailed reports of findings and repairs.
  • Work collaboratively with installation teams and other technicians to complete projects efficiently.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and ensure a clean and professional work environment.


Qualifications:


  • Previous experience as a chimney sweep, fireplace technician, or similar trade is preferred.
  • Experience in a commercial construction-related role
  • CSIA Certification is a plus but not required.
  • Company paid training class to help you obtain your CSIA certification.
  • Strong understanding of chimney and fireplace systems, venting, and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
