Business Process Subject Matter Specialist (SAFe Business Coach)

**Future Opportunity**

CSEngineering is seeking a Business Process Subject Matter Specialist (SAFe Business Coach) to join our growing team! This role will drive Agile transformation and business process improvement across a complex government IT portfolio by coaching teams, enabling organizational change, and aligning Agile frameworks to acquisition and business operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep SAFe expertise, a strong track record in change management and workforce enablement, and experience establishing Agile maturity within government business functions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Process Subject Matter Specialist will provide expert coaching, technical analysis, and implementation guidance to support the adoption of Agile frameworks and continuous process improvement across enterprise-level business and IT operations.

  • Coach and guide teams and leadership on the adoption of SAFe and Agile frameworks tailored to government business contexts, driving sustainable organizational change.
  • Provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, delivering high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, and documentation support.
  • Support acquisition process activities including analysis of source documentation and creation of acquisition documentation in compliance with DoDI 5000.87, 5000.85, 5000.75, and 5000.74.
  • Establish and govern metrics frameworks for operational teams to track Agile maturity, team performance, and process compliance.
  • Lead change management and workforce enablement initiatives to build organizational capacity and sustain Agile transformation efforts.
  • Facilitate planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases of program and software development efforts.
  • Support acquisition milestone readiness by coordinating pre-review documentation, managing risk and issue submissions, and ensuring materials are reviewed prior to governance meetings.
  • Develop process improvement frameworks, training curricula, and tools to accelerate Agile adoption and maximize business value delivery.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Security Clearance: Must possess IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at time of proposal submission

  • Certified SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC) or equivalent advanced ICAgile certification
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience adapting Agile frameworks to business contexts
  • Must have experience with the acquisition process and its milestones, including analyzing source documentation and supporting the creation of acquisition documentation per applicable DoDI publications
  • Experience with change management and workforce enablement
  • Experience with metrics governance for operational teams
  • Experience establishing Agile maturity across government business functions
  • Deep understanding of organizational change management principles and practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Lean Portfolio Management and SAFe DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition lifecycle management and enterprise IT program environments

Location: Washington, DC (NCR) with potential travel to other government sites as required.
