What are CSCS cards?
What is the difference between Cscs vs Labourer?
| Aspect | Cscs | Labourer |
|---|---|---|
| Certifications | Requires CSCS card, health & safety tests | May not require formal certification, but some roles may need basic safety training |
| Work Environment | Construction sites, skilled tasks | General construction sites, manual labor |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Construction companies, contractors | Construction firms, subcontractors |
The main difference is that a Cscs card indicates a recognized level of health and safety competence on construction sites, often associated with skilled roles. Labourers typically perform manual tasks and may not hold formal certifications. While both work in construction environments, Cscs holders often have more specialized training, making them suitable for a wider range of site activities.

Full-Time | D1 Training Wake Forest | 920 Timberline View Dr., Suite 108-110, Wake Forest, NC 27587
Base Salary + Performance Incentives | Early mornings, afternoons/evenings, weekends as needed
Why D1 Training Wake Forest
We are a brand new D1 Training facility opening in the heart of Wake Forest, NC late summer- one of the fastest-growing athletic communities in the Triangle. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help build something from scratch, shape the culture of a high-performance training environment, and become a pillar of the local athletic community. If you want to inherit someone else's program, this isn't it. If you want to build your own, keep reading.
Overview
D1 Training Wake Forest is seeking a high-level Head Coach to lead the training floor, develop coaches, and drive member results inside our brand new facility. This is not just a coaching role- this is a coach of coaches leadership position responsible for delivering elite training, building a strong coaching staff, and ensuring a best-in-class experience for athletes ages 7 through adult. The ideal candidate combines training expertise, leadership presence, and operational discipline. They are equally comfortable coaching sessions, mentoring staff, and owning key performance metrics tied to retention, utilization, and revenue.
Our Culture & Values
We are athlete-first, community-driven, and relentlessly accountable. We hold ourselves to the same standard we hold every athlete who walks through our doors. We celebrate effort, demand excellence, and genuinely care about the people in our building. If that sounds like the environment you want to lead in, we want to talk.
What You'll Own
On the coaching floor, you'll deliver high-energy group and personal training sessions, serve as the face of the training experience, and ensure every session meets D1's 5-star standard across athletes ages 7 through adult. From a leadership standpoint, you'll hire, onboard, and develop a team of coaches, lead ongoing education and performance feedback, and build a deep bench of talent to support the facility's growth. You'll execute D1 programming with precision, maintain class quality and structure across all sessions, and ensure every coach is aligned on delivery standards and methodology. Beyond the floor, you'll own member retention through proactive check-ins, low-usage calls, and a structured onboarding cadence at 7, 30, 60, and 90 days. You'll keep the facility clean, organized, and operating at a premium standard, and you'll actively support community outreach, local partnerships, and organic lead generation.
What We're Looking For
*The right candidate has 3+ years of experience in strength and conditioning, group training, or sports performance- ideally with youth athletes ages 7-18- and a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
*You're organized, disciplined, and someone who holds themselves to a high standard. You thrive in a fast-paced, early-morning, community-driven environment and you're genuinely invested in the people around you.
*Any of these certifications: CSCS, CPT, USAW, NSCA-CPT, NASM-CPT, ACE-CPT,IYCA, NASM-PES, NSCA-CSCS, CPR/AED certification, or equivalent certifications, along with prior experience mentoring coaches or leading teams.
What Success Looks Like
A coaching staff that is measurably improving every month. Members who stay longer, train more often, and refer their friends and teammates. A facility known throughout Wake Forest for its energy, culture, and results. And consistent, high-level execution of the D1 product every single session.
Compensation & Growth
We offer a competitive base salary plus performance incentives tied to personal training revenue and member retention metrics, ongoing education and development within the D1 system, and a genuine opportunity for advancement into multi-unit or regional leadership roles. Most importantly, you'll have the rare chance to help build something great from day one.
*If you're looking for a role where you clock in, coach, and clock out- this isn't it. But if you want to lead people, build something great, and make a real impact on athletes in this community, we want to hear from you!
