Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking our next Engineering, & Manufacturing Development Manager
As the EMD Manager on the NISSC 3 program, you will oversee projects of varying scale, with a particular focus on Engineering, Maintenance, and/or Depot-related activities aligned to EMD efforts. You will manage integrated schedules, team assignments, and resource allocation, and ensure risks, issues, and dependencies are effectively identified, escalated, and resolved.
You will facilitate project status meetings, track key metrics, maintain project documentation, and coordinate among technical, logistical, and government stakeholders. You provide senior-level leadership across multiple disciplines to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with program and EMD objectives.
Responsibilities
• Lead planning and execution of EMD-related projects and workstreams within the NISSC 3 program.
• Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
• Coordinate team assignments and resource allocation across engineering, logistics, maintenance, and other disciplines.
• Identify, track, and escalate project risks and issues; drive mitigation strategies and contingency planning.
• Ensure compliance with all contract deliverables, documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Facilitate recurring status meetings; capture decisions, actions, and risks/issues, and track them through closure.
• Track and report project performance metrics (e.g., schedule adherence, deliverable completion, risk status) to program and government leadership.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, status reports, risk/issue registers, and change records.
• Oversee coordination and communication between technical, logistical, and government stakeholders to ensure aligned execution.
• Provide leadership and direction across multiple projects or tasks to achieve EMD and broader program objectives.
• Support continuous improvement of project management and EMD-related processes, tools, and reporting.
Qualifications
• 7-10 years of experience managing complex projects or programs, preferably in IT, cyber, systems engineering, or maintenance/EMD environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, managing integrated schedules, and coordinating resources.
• Proven experience with risk and issue management, including escalation and mitigation planning.
• Experience preparing and delivering project status reports and presentations to senior and government stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in: Information Technology (IT) / Cybersecurity / Computer Science (CS) / Information Systems (IS) / Data Science / Software Engineering OR equivalent DoD/Military training and experience in project/program management or related field.
• Active Secret clearance at time of hire. Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI as required by the program.
• One or more of the following strongly preferred:
- SecurityX / CASP+
- DAWIA PM Practitioner
- GSEC
- Security+ (Security+ CE acceptable)

Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $96,800.00/Yr. - USD $161,500.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
