Job Summary:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs. They are seeking a SkillBridge Field Service Technician to collaborate with a team, develop innovative solutions, and work with advanced Information Technology systems.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with a team of motivated, talented, and supportive professionals
• Develop innovative solutions for complex challenges
• Work with state-of-the-art technologies
• Evaluate the design and performance of advanced Information Technology-based systems
• Install, configure, and test server hardware (including CPUs, RAM, hard drives, and network cards) for our training simulator systems
• Assemble and install simulator components such as computer racks, computers, network infrastructure, and support systems—ensuring optimal airflow and effective cable management
• Assist with hardware upgrades, replacements, and repairs as needed
• Review and assess technical documentation to verify equipment suitability in system designs
• Create and update technical requirements, specify system components, and draft technical drawings using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools
• Coordinate and participate in system installation, interface testing, operational performance verification, troubleshooting, technical issue evaluations, and the preparation of technical reports and presentations
Qualifications:
Required:
• Eligible for SkillBridge Participation: Candidates must meet Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge eligibility guidelines. If you’re unsure of your eligibility, please visit the SkillBridge website or consult your Unit Commander or Transition Coordinator.
• Military Service: Must have 180 days of military service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge and at least 180 continuous days of active military service. Must have approval from your unit commander to participate in SkillBridge.
• Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required.
• Availability: Must be available to complete the full internship duration (standard length: 180 days).
• U.S. Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required.
Preferred:
• Military Background: Preferred: Prior military experience in Information Technology (IT), Cryptologic System Maintenance, or related technical specialties.
