What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Crowdsourced Testing position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Crowdsourced Testing, you need a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately document bugs and issues, often without formal technical education. Familiarity with online testing platforms, bug tracking tools like Jira, and various operating systems and devices is advantageous. Strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently are important soft skills in this role. These qualities are vital for delivering high-quality feedback, meeting project deadlines, and contributing effectively to distributed testing teams.

Does tester work really pay?

Crowdsourced testing jobs typically pay per test or project, with rates varying based on complexity and platform. While some testers earn a modest supplemental income, others can make more substantial amounts depending on experience, skills, and the number of tests completed. Payment is usually processed through online platforms that manage the testing assignments and compensation.

What does a typical workday look like for someone in crowdsourced testing?

A typical workday in crowdsourced testing involves logging into a dedicated platform to review available testing tasks, executing test cases on different devices or browsers, and thoroughly documenting any issues or bugs you encounter. Testers often work independently and may collaborate through online forums or group chats to clarify requirements or share insights. The workload can vary based on project demand, offering flexibility but also requiring self-motivation and organization. This role is ideal for those who appreciate variety, enjoy problem-solving, and like the freedom of a remote, task-based environment.

Will AI replace testers?

Crowdsourced testers perform manual testing and provide human insights that AI cannot fully replicate, especially for usability and exploratory testing. While AI tools can assist in automating repetitive tasks and identifying certain issues, human testers are essential for nuanced evaluation, critical thinking, and contextual understanding in the testing process.

What is a Crowdsourced Testing job?

Companies use this approach to ensure broader test coverage and real-world validation before releasing their products.

Which testing has the highest salary?

In the field of crowdsourced testing, senior roles such as Test Managers or Quality Assurance Directors typically have the highest salaries, often exceeding $80,000 annually. These positions require extensive experience, strong communication skills, and knowledge of testing tools and methodologies.

Job description

Corporate Program Manager
Location: REMOTE in United States Eastern Time Zone
About the job
Testlio's fully managed crowdsourced testing platform, powered by our proprietary intelligence technology - LeoAI Engineā„¢, integrates expert, on-demand testers directly into your release process. Ship faster and more confidently with global coverage across 600,000+ devices, 800+ payment methods, 150+ countries, and 100+ languages. To learn more, visit testlio.com.
We are hiring a Corporate Program Manager to join our operations team. In this role, you will drive the execution and alignment of our enterprise initiatives, orchestrating critical, cross-functional initiatives championed by our Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Reporting directly to SVP, Operations & Delivery, you will operate at the intersection of strategy and business transformation, translating high-level executive vision into concrete, measurable cross-functional milestones. Unlike a traditional PMO role focused on tracking checkboxes, you will own delivery end-to-end-designing governance frameworks, mitigating financial risks, and ensuring that our global operational changes achieve long-term adoption and tangible business value.
Why will you love this job?
  • Own a blank canvas for enterprise transformation, where you will have full operational autonomy to design, build, and optimize Testlio's global governance and corporate program frameworks from the ground up rather than maintaining inherited legacy structures.
  • Steer high-visibility initiatives that directly impact our KPIs and scale the business, establishing clear, measurable proof of your strategic value with executive stakeholders and the C-suite.

Why will you love being a part of Testlio?
  • Great Culture: Testlio is a female-founded company, and half of our team identifies as female. We're proud of our inclusive, purpose-driven culture where people genuinely enjoy collaborating. As part of our team (we call ourselves TestLions), you'll help create exceptional digital experiences for our customers, while also contributing to our freelance network.
  • Remote Work: Our culture is built around remote work. We've created systems to allow us to successfully work together asynchronously as a fully remote and globally distributed team. Testlio provides the tools and guidance for everyone to succeed in their careers in a fully remote setting. Our working style encourages everyone to make decisions independently, while also ensuring that we always provide help and support to each other.
  • Growth Opportunities: We're at an exciting scale-up stage. You will get to work on challenging and meaningful problems, learn from a diverse and global team, and have a clear path for professional development. Our clients have been with us for 7+ years, and many spend $500K+/year with Testlio.

What would your day look like?
  • Define and enforce cross-functional program governance structures, clear escalation paths, and operational status frameworks to maintain unified alignment across distributed engineering, product, and client delivery tracks.
  • Run automated enterprise tracking systems and dashboards within project portfolio management tools, constructing a centralized, single source of truth for asynchronous global updates.
  • Quantify potential operational roadblocks using objective risk registers, building actionable mitigation playbooks that protect critical paths before dependencies impact the bottom line.
  • Lead organizational transformation initiatives by applying systematic change management frameworks to analyze cross-departmental impacts, deliver training programs, and ensure sustainable tool and workflow adoption.
  • Manage stakeholders and drive operational alignment across competing executive priorities by translating complex requirements into clear strategic metrics that tie directly to company KPIs
  • Assume direct management and development of a small team over time to support the continuous growth of our corporate portfolio.

What do you need to succeed?
Technical Skills
  • Proven experience directing large-scale corporate programs or enterprise portfolio structures using hybrid project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall) inside a software services or SaaS organization.
  • Advanced, practical administrative mastery of enterprise portfolio management tools (such as Monday.com) to build automated status dashboards and configure asynchronous workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to align operational program milestones with corporate budgetary constraints, optimize resource allocation, and identify cost-saving efficiencies across cross-functional tracks
  • Proven experience partnering with Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams to define key operational metrics and translate raw program data into automated, executive-ready dashboards (e.g., in Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI)."
  • Have an active PMP certification or a recognized equivalent credential (e.g., PgMP).

Human Skills
  • Mastery of 'influence without authority'-the proven ability to gain buy-in and hold senior cross-functional leaders accountable to milestone deadlines without direct hierarchical authority.
  • Able to write a comprehensive, self-contained one-page brief and structural playbooks that a non-technical executive can immediately act on without needing real-time clarification.
  • Demonstrates exceptional asynchronous leadership, proactively spotting broken processes or communication gaps across global time zones and introducing structured, documented workflows to resolve them.
  • Possesses a highly disciplined, analytical mindset focused on objective business value realization, with a proven willingness to hands-on audit and re-scope underperforming tracks.
  • Thrives in a highly independent, distributed scale-up environment, showing the grit to balance macro strategic alignment with direct, tactical implementation requirements.

What is the application process?
At Testlio, we aim to hire individuals who are excited about their role, thrive in a fully remote environment, and have strong long-term potential with our team. Because we are a fully distributed company, our interview process includes conversations with several team members so you can get a well-rounded understanding of the role, the people you'll work with, and how we collaborate. As a result, our interview process typically takes 3-4 weeks to complete.
Interview Process:
  • Application

  • TestGorilla assessment
  • ~ # Team and Stakeholder interviews
