Job Title: TD Garden Event Security Special Operations Group (SOG)

Starting Pay: $24.25

Schedule:

  • Shift times can vary depending on event
  • 3 hours prior to event until EOE  (end of event)
  • PT during summer
  • Hours will increase once Bruins/ Celtics Seasons resume
  • Day shift
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At Least 18 Years of Age
  • 2+ Years of Security Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Weekend Availability
  • Indoor/outdoor job; tolerance of weather particularly in cold temperatures
  • Experience working in extreme environments
  • Able to walk, stand, lift, for hours at a time
  • Maintaining calm and composed while dealing with people professionally

DEFINING CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Provide effective crowd management and exterior / perimeter security in a dynamic, crowded, emotionally charged environment while on shift during TD Garden events
  • Perform other duties of a more responsible and demanding level involving leadership and professionally interacting with the general public and law enforcement / emergency response agencies

GENERAL JOB DUTIES:

  • SOG team members are responsible for crowd management lane set up and breakdown and to provide active crowd management before and after the event
  • SOG team members are responsible for maintaining a visible security presence on North Station Platform and various exterior locations and helping sustain a safe and orderly environment while performing foot patrols
  • SOG team members are responsible to help provide arena perimeter access control
  • SOG team members are responsible for providing policy enforcement and ensuring evicted guests safely leave property without disturbance
  • SOG team members are responsible for providing emergency and incident response, primarily on North Station Platform and various exterior locations, but also occasionally inside the event arena and concourse areas

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Crowd Management

  • Set up and break down crowd management lanes with barricades and tenser barriers to help segregate ticketed guests from North Station guests / commuter rail passengers and direct ticketed guest flow to prohibited item screening lanes
  • Monitor and control crowd flow of ticketed guests to minimize wait times
  • Communicate effectively with event security management and supervision in crowd control efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with ticketed guests to provide guidance and direction of managed crowd flow.
  • Direct and support the efforts of event security officers at crowd management posts.

High visibility security presence

  • Maintain professional uniform and appearance standards at all times while on-duty.
  • Provide assistance or information in a courteous and professional guest-service manner at all times.
  • Enhance crime-prevention and policy-violation deterrence by being seen in the environment of on North Station Platform and various exterior locations, and actively observing people and their behaviors.
  • Perform random foot patrols of North Station Platform and various exterior locations

Perimeter access control security

  • Secure stairwell ticketed guest entrances when not in use.
  • Observe for behaviors indicating access breach attempt may be made and intervene in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Respond to reported access breach attempt incidents.
  • Report any vulnerabilities to perimeter security.

Policy enforcement and eviction process support

  • Observe and respond to violations of building guest code of conduct policies on North Station Platform and various exterior locations.
  • Evict people violating building guest code of conduct in a safe and professional manner.
  • Aid event security supervision and management with ticketed guest eviction incidents from the arena

Emergency and incident response

  • Respond to emergencies and incidents on North Station Platform and various exterior locations including but not limited to:

Medical Emergency/ Fire and Fire Alarm / Evacuation & Crowd Surge /Arguments / physical confrontation de-escalation/ Ticket Scalping / Merchandise Vending/ Suspicious Activity & Suspicious Items/ Bomb Threat/ Active Shooter & Active Killer

  • Complete emergency and incident response also includes post-incident written reporting
