Job description

Position Summary: Supports and complements the nursing process under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Obtains complete, accurate and relevant patient data for the purpose of registration for the outpatient, free-standing emergency department and inpatient population.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs direct patient care, including, but not limited to:
    1. Vital signs
    2. Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
    3. 12-lead EKGs
    4. Point of care testing
    5. Splint application, wound care
    6. Assist in procedures, code response and room preparation for incoming patients
    7. Stocking and patient transport
  • Keeps charge Nurse aware of delays with patient care
  • Facilitating calls to medical staff
  • Facilitates patient transfer in collaboration with ED care team
  • Acknowledges and incorporates - the importance of culture, the assessment of cross-cultural relations, and vigilance towards the dynamics that result from cultural differences, the expansion of cultural knowledge, and the adaptation of services to meet culturally unique needs.
  • Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
  • Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct
Required Qualifications:
Education and Training:
  • Currently certified by the state of Illinois as a CNA or EMT-B license.
  • Current CPR.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to care for patients with compassion and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn clerking.

Days - 12 Hours, Full Time Days

The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
The expected pay for this position is listed below:
$18.00 - $21.00
