About the Role
At PSS Cross Country Infrastructure Solutions, every team member plays a critical role in delivering the tools, materials, and support that keep America's energy and industrial projects moving forward.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, managing the accounting team, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple operating entities. This role plays a key part in analyzing financial performance, supporting operational decision-making, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies in a fast-paced environment.

This position reports directly to the CFO and collaborates closely with Finance, Operations, and leadership teams across the organization.

What You'll DoAccounting Operations & Financial Reporting
  • Manage the accounting team and oversee daily accounting operations

  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of monthly financial results

  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts against prior year and budget

  • Conduct detailed balance sheet account analyses and ensure accuracy of supporting schedules

  • Review departmental profit and loss statements prior to finalizing corporate financial results

  • Perform monthly closing activities, including preparation of cost-to-operate statements and supporting analysis

Financial Analysis & Business Support
  • Provide quality summaries of financial performance against budget and prior year results, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities

  • Proactively analyze financial variances and communicate findings to operations management

  • Support business decisions through timely financial reporting and analytical insight

  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial and operational performance

  • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to support strategic initiatives and financial planning

Cost & Inventory Accounting
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities related to cost and inventory accounting functions

  • Support inventory accounting processes and ensure accuracy of inventory-related reporting

  • Monitor and analyze cost performance and operational spending trends

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company procedures, and internal controls related to inventory and cost accounting

Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to support performance and professional growth

  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and internal controls

  • Support implementation of process improvements and system enhancements where applicable

What You Bring
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (e.g., Social Security card, passport, or other acceptable I9 documents)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

  • Progressive accounting and financial management experience, including supervisory responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles

  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory accounting processes preferred

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems/ERP platforms

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based role with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work

  • Time-sensitive reporting deadlines may require periodic overtime, particularly during month-end and year-end periods

  • Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required during peak reporting periods

  • Limited and infrequent travel may be required
