Tour Guide (Part-Time), Bayer Crop Science Chesterfield Tour Program - Chesterfield, MO
Role Overview
The Tour Guide for the Bayer Chesterfield Tour Program plays a key role in delivering an engaging, educational, and memorable visitor experience at Bayer's Chesterfield research facility. As a member of the Tour Program team, this individual leads dynamic, interactive tours that bring Bayer's research, innovation, and Crop Science story to life for a wide range of audiences.
The Bayer Innovation Experience/Agricultural Tour is a critical outreach initiative that supports Bayer's mission to transparently and compellingly share its vision, technology, research pipeline, and commitment to innovation. This role serves as a public-facing ambassador for Bayer, helping diverse stakeholders-including farmers, industry partners, government officials, investors, consumers, students, and employees-better understand the impact of Bayer's work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead interactive and engaging two-hour tours of the Bayer Chesterfield research facility for diverse audiences.
  • Communicate technical scientific concepts clearly and conversationally using analogies, storytelling, and real-world examples.
  • Tailor tour content seamlessly for varied audiences, including farmers, seed dealers, consumers, employees, students, and community members.
  • Facilitate hands-on, age-appropriate educational activities for younger tour audiences.
  • Deliver tour content in a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable manner while maintaining alignment with the Crop Science Narrative
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to exceptional customer service and visitor experience, ensuring guests feel welcomed, engaged, and valued throughout their visit.
  • Represent Bayer professionally as a knowledgeable and approachable brand ambassador.
  • Collaborate with Tour Program team members to continuously improve tour content and visitor experience.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
    • Preferred fields of study: Communications, Education, Science, Engineering, or Agriculture
  • Proven excellence in verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, influence, and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated confidence and effectiveness in public speaking and group facilitation.
  • Ability to adapt messaging style and content to meet audience needs.

Additional Attributes
  • 4 years' experience in teaching, communications, or related roles
  • Enthusiastic storyteller with a passion for education and outreach
  • Comfortable engaging both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Organized, adaptable, and energized by a highly interactive role.
