Summary HII’s Mission Technologies division is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that advance national security and defense objectives. This position is part of our Cyber and Intelligence division, which plays a critical role in supporting Enterprise-Level Security and Modernization efforts across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, physical facilities, and personnel operations. The selected candidate will contribute to a high-impact government program focused on enhancing and securing mission-critical systems and environments.

The program is scheduled to launch in early 2026 and due to the classified nature of the mission and the sensitivity of the operational environment, an active TS/SCI security clearance will be required. We will be hiring several people for these roles at various levels with salary ranges outlined here: Systems Engineer 1: $71,000 - $100,000 Systems Engineer 2: $83,000 - $120,000 Systems Engineer 3: $104,500 - $150,000 Systems Engineer 4: $129,200 - $185,000 What You Will Do Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Support design, development, and integration of software-based system architectures Participate in requirements analysis, interface definition, and system validation activities Assist with technical troubleshooting, defect resolution, and performance optimization Develop and maintain system documentation (ICDs, architecture diagrams, data flow models, etc.) Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, security, and program teams in an Agile environment Own system architecture definition, requirements baselining, interface control, and roadmap planning Lead multi-team integration efforts across secure cloud, distributed, or hybrid environments Direct technical reviews, risk assessments, design decisions, and configuration control Mentor junior + mid-level engineers and act as primary technical liaison to PMO and customer stakeholders Ensure system and software solutions align to Zero-Trust, cyber accreditation, and mission requirements What We Are Looking For: Minimum Qualifications Systems Engineer 1: 0 years experience with Bachelors; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience. Systems Engineer 2: 2+ years relevant experience with Bachelors; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

Systems Engineer 3: 5+ years relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. Systems Engineer 4: 9+ years relevant experience with Bachelors; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience. Active TS/SCI government security clearance required to start.

Must be able to obtain a CI Poly Proven ability to architect large-scale, mission-critical software systems in DoD/IC environments Deep background in security, observability, scalability, and resilient system design Experience leading technical execution in programs with ATO, RMF, or classified deployment milestones Strong ability to translate mission objectives into implementable technical capabilities Preferred: Bonus Points For Relevant industry certifications (as applicable) Prior experience in defense, aerospace, or government contracting Proficiency with specialized tools or software aligned to the role Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams HII is more than a job - it’s an opportunity to build a new future.
