Impact Electronic Solutions - Grants Pass Location (ESAM) - Position Description

Summary of Position:

Attaching metal or plastic crimps to the ends of cut lengths of wire using hand tools and crimping machinery.

Duties:

  1. Read Assembly Instructions / Cut Sheets for crimp requirements.
  2. Audit kits for wires, cables, etc.
  3. Give status of kit shortages to lead or supervisor.
  4. Measure wire from each bundle to check length.
  5. Place wire in crimp and operate foot pedal.
  6. Inspect crimp and wire for defects.
  7. Hand crimping and /or stripping as necessary.
  8. Fill out traveler paperwork.
  9. Identify quality problems and initiate necessary corrective action.
  10. Make suggestions on improving the process.
  11. Inspect other operators work as necessary.

Requirements:

  1. Have the ability to work with arms at shoulder level for extended periods of time.
  2. Able to distinguish colors.
  3. Have excellent manual dexterity.
  4. Able to lift and carry 25 lbs. on a repeated basis.
  5. Able to sit for eight (8) or more hours a day.
  1. Able to use various measuring devices (scales, micrometer, calipers) to verify product quality.
  2. Able to read small print.
  3. Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
  4. Perform special assignments and other duties as required.
