Job description

This position reports directly to the Process Engineering Supervisor and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of IAC as described below:
General Job Duties:
• To exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.
• To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.
• Follow Company policies and display conduct expected of IAC employees as described in the Work Plant Rules and Work Safety Rules.
• Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures of IAC to provide for a safe and healthful workplace. Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected. Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur.
• Maintain proper ergonomics at all times when performing assigned tasks.
• To perform daily cross-functional job assignments in all areas of your assigned department per the established procedures and work guidance.
• Participate and support all lean, continuous improvement programs, initiatives and activities.
• Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work according to 5s standards.
• Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, PA System and/or phone, business use only.
• Maintain professionalism when representing the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Specific Job Duties:
• Initiate machine process, make adjustments within process tolerance and recommend any changes for improved efficiencies.
• Continually monitor all processes related to machinery to ensure equipment is running at optimal efficiency (Jenoptik laser cutting, Urethane (soft foam molding), Waterjet, Vacform, Vibration welders, secondary equipment, punch press, paint line, Fanuc and ABB robotics, sonic welder etc.)
• Participate in analyzing and work to resolve process, equipment and tool issues.
• Assist in the set-up and start-up of new tools, new equipment and resins for trial
• Assist with the set-up and maintenance of other equipment as required. Including but not limited waterjet, vacform, vibration welders, secondary equipment, punch press, paint line, robotics, sonic welder etc.
• Assist machine operators as required to troubleshoot
• Responsible for regular and periodic monitoring of product for acceptable quality and the most current specifications.
• Ensure process parameters are followed; and troubleshoot any engineering/equipment related issues for the entire facility.
• Work with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts and departments.
• Train and oversee Process Tech's on each shift.
Education Requirements:
• Associates Degree in a technical; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in engineering, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment
• Must have experience processing
• Excellent computer and communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Experience with urethane and robotics is preferred.
Training Requirements:
• This position will be required to travel to other facilities or training locations as well as on-site training as needed.
PPE Requirements:
• This position requires the use of eye protection and hearing protection and any PPE specific to the task being performed.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to stand on feet 8-12 hours a day and lift up to 75lbs on an occasional basis and 40 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to perform overhead work as well as work below the waist.
