§ Practice Area: Corporate Insolvency, Debt Restructuring, and Creditor Advocacy


§ Location: Atlanta, GA (Strategic Expansion Office)


§ Salary: $235,000 to $360,000 Base Salary (In addition to a market-leading lock-step bonus structure and comprehensive benefits package)


§ Schedule: Full-time, Direct-Hire, Minimum 1,850 hours annual billed target.

§ Duties

The Senior Insolvency and Financial Reorganization Associate will serve as a lead operative within the firm’s creditor-side practice, managing sophisticated workstreams for out-of-court workouts and judicial reorganizations. This role requires an astute legal mind capable of navigating the intersection of secured finance and bankruptcy code complexities.


Core responsibilities include:

⨖ Developing Advocacy Strategies for institutional creditors and agent banks in Chapter 11 proceedings, ensuring the preservation of lien priority and the maximization of collateral recovery.

⨖ Drafting High-Stakes Pleadings, including motions for relief from stay, objections to disclosure statements, and comprehensive plan confirmation challenges.

⨖ Executing Out-of-Court Solutions, such as drafting forbearance agreements, debt-for-equity swaps, and distressed asset purchase agreements in a "Special Situations" context.

⨖ Providing Tactical Guidance on inter-creditor disputes, adequate protection payments, and the interpretation of complex credit instruments in distressed scenarios.

⨖ Collaborating with Finance and M&A Teams to provide restructuring support for distressed acquisitions (Section 363 sales) and the structuring of debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing.

⨖ Managing Contested Matters, including managing discovery phases and strategy formulation for insolvency-related litigation and adversary proceedings.


§ Qualifications

⨖ Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with an exemplary academic record.

⨖ Active Bar License in Georgia, or the immediate eligibility to waive in.

⨖ Two (2) to Six (6) plus years of substantive experience in insolvency and financial restructuring at a peer AmLaw firm.

⨖ Proven proficiency in Creditor Rights, with significant experience representing secured lenders or bondholders in a transactional or litigious capacity.

⨖ Exceptional writing and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-velocity, deadline-driven environment.


§ Skills

⨖ Prior experience serving as a judicial clerk for a U.S. Bankruptcy Court is highly advantageous.

⨖ Substantial knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), specifically Articles 8 and 9.

⨖ Demonstrated capability to manage client relationships independently and lead junior associate workstreams on complex deal sheets.

⨖ Strong interpersonal skills necessary for negotiating with sophisticated opposing counsel and multi-lender syndicates.
