Assistant Branch Manager

The key purpose of this position is to assist the Branch Manager in leading a team of associates in providing exceptional member service while meeting the strategic objectives of the credit union. This includes participating in the oversight of day-to-day operations, sales and service initiatives, business development activities, and associate development.

What you will do… 

Coaching and Development; this includes:

  • Assist the Branch Manager with effectively hiring and managing branch staff, with a strong focus on the growth and development of associates through consistent and positive coaching.
  • Ensure all operation, regulatory, and branch policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure employee coverage for all PEFCU functions each day during hours of operations.Assisting Branch Manager with Sales and Service; This includes:
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery by holding associates accountable for attracting, retaining, and strengthening member relationships by offering products and services that best align with the members' needs.
  • Strong understanding of Products and Services to assist in recommending appropriate products and services to members.
  • Understanding and ensuring staff understanding of applicable procedures.
  • Quickly and effectively responding to member complaints and concerns.

Assisting Branch Manager with Operational Oversight; this includes:

  • Overall security of the office, staff, physical assets, and member non-public information (NPI).
  • Planning and conducting branch meetings as needed
  • Overseeing day-to-day tasks of branch employees and understanding those tasks in order to fill in for any position when needed.
  • Identify redundancies and inefficiencies in branch tasks to make appropriate recommendations for improvement.
  • Responding to alarms after hours and/or weekends.
  • Assist with conducting required branch audits.
  • Review check holds and provide guidance on check holds, releasing, extending, etc.
  • Provide notary and Medallion Signature Guarantee services.
  • Perform overrides on restricted accounts.

    What you need....

    • 3-5 Years experience working as a Personal Banker/Member advocate or relevant role in a credit union or bank.
    • Previous management experience in a bank or credit union preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
    • Committed to providing an exceptional member service experience
    • Focused on reaching and completing tactics to achieve a desired outcome within set timeframes
    • Ability to understand differences and drives to consensus, while considering all viewpoints
    • Ability and willingness to quickly adjust to new situations, circumstances, and environments.
    • Ability to make decisions in the best interest of the member and organization based on research, collaboration, and previous experience.
    • Ability to solve complex problems quickly and effectively using analytical and collaborative approaches.
    • Ability to manage the people, process and technology needed to adapt to change.
    • Ability to effectively communicate, interact and work with individuals and groups.
    • Ability to list tasks into the most efficient and effective order for critical success
