JOB SUMMARY
The AR/AP Clerk processes, analyzes, and records business transactions that accurately reflect operational activities of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Processes accounts payable - collects invoices and matches them to supporting documents, enters invoice data into computer, prints checks, runs Accounts Payable register, and obtains authorized signatures on checks.
  • Processes accounts receivable - generates and sends statements, and deposits and posts payments upon receipt.
  • Balances credit card statements.
  • Creates/maintains spreadsheets as necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors.
  • Answers phone calls and directs calls to appropriate parties or takes messages.
  • Purchases supplies for all offices.
  • Handles Inter-office mail from daily Courier bags from each office.
  • Meters mail as necessary.
  • Provide cross-coverage within the department upon extended staff absences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong computer skills, Ability to formulate and maintain computer spreadsheets.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.

EDUCATION
Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE
2 years' experience in accounting setting preferred.
