Provides support and coordination to the Medical Staff organization in carrying out its delegated responsibilities as shown in the Medical Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations, primarily related to the function of credentialing and re-credentialing. Serves as resource person to designated medical staff leaders to support their leadership responsibilities including bylaws, rules and regulations, organizational issues, accreditation requirements, credentialing and peer review. Schedules, attends, and prepares minutes for medical staff credentials meetings, completes all follow-up actions from meetings and maintains appropriate records pertaining to same.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training should be commensurate with education and experience as Credentials Coordinator or Medical Staff Coordinator.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree Medical Staff Services Sciences.

  • Coursework/Training Education to support the Medical Staff Organization and demonstrate effectiveness in Medical Staff office responsibilities particularly as it relates to the initial appointment and reappointment of physicians and Allied Health practitioners. Or equivalent educ/experience

  • Upon hire: Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services as Medical Staff Coordinator (CMSC) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)

  • 3 years Experience in a Medical Staff Office.
