Job Summary:
The Creative Director at Trinchero Family Estates is a visionary design leader responsible for elevating the creative expression of our portfolio of wine and spirits brands. This role requires a hands-on design expert who can connect the dots between visual creativity and commercial success, translating brand strategy into impactful creative that drives business results. This leader will oversee a team of designers and art directors, fostering a high-performance culture centered on design excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
A successful Creative Director will excel at championing compelling design rooted in strong fundamentals including typography, color, layout, storytelling and package design, while also ensuring all creative solutions serve strategic brand and sales goals. We are seeking a leader who will inspire a bold and forward-thinking creative department that pushes boundaries, understands business priorities and delivers best-in-class packaging, campaigns, and consumer experiences.
Essential Functions:

  • Creative Leadership & Vision
    • Set and maintain a high bar for creative quality across all channels including packaging, point-of-sale (POS), advertising campaigns, video production, corporate communications and digital assets.
    • Drive the evolution of brand identities, design systems, and innovation pipelines for a diverse portfolio of wine and spirits brands.
    • Translate brand and commercial strategies into visually compelling creative concepts that connect with target consumers and drive sales.
  • Strategic Collaboration
    • Partner closely with brand, trade marketing, sales, and innovation teams to deliver creative solutions that meet business objectives.
    • Serve as a creative thought partner to senior leadership, advocating for the value of design as a driver of brand equity and business growth.
    • Present and defend creative concepts with clarity and confidence, incorporating stakeholder feedback while maintaining design integrity.
  • Team Development & Coaching
    • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of designers and art directors, cultivating a culture of creative curiosity, accountability, and excellence.
    • Guide talent development through regular coaching, clear feedback, and growth opportunities.
    • Foster cross-functional collaboration, continuous learning, and creative experimentation.
  • Project Oversight & Execution
    • Oversee the execution and delivery of creative projects to ensure they are on-brand, on-time, and on-budget, including work lead by internal teams and outside contractors and design agencies.
    • Maintain operational efficiency across the team, optimizing workflow and resource allocation.
    • Manage department budgets including T&E, contractors and training spends.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field (BFA preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive creative/design leadership experience, preferably in wine, spirits, or premium consumer goods.
  • Proven track record of delivering breakthrough creative that fuels commercial performance.
  • Exceptional design fundamentals in typography, layout, composition, and color.
  • Deep understanding of packaging and print production, with working knowledge of structural design and materials.
  • Strong digital fluency and ability to guide creative for eCommerce, social, and experiential channels.
  • Experience managing and inspiring a team of diverse creative talent.
  • Comfortable and effective presentation to executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex projects.

Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00
The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
