Job description

Scope:

Responsible for engaging with clients, stakeholders and staff across internal and external communications networks and platforms to drive awareness, access, and adoption of Wayne Metro service offerings, program benefits, and community resources. Supports project management while prioritizing and completing multiple tasks and assignments under the direction of the Communications Manager.

Essential Functions:

Project Coordination

  • Successfully manage and complete support tickets related to communication creation, language translation requests, order requests, promotional item requests, social media requests, marketing requests, and any other request that falls under their duties.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently. Independently organizes and executes projects that support and move the agency forward while working alongside multiple agency departments and teams.
  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, meeting agendas and note taking.
  • Support Agency event planning and execution, including but not limited to, messaging,marketing, coordination, technical and day-of support.
  • Manage the promotional inventory, swag, and give away items as requested throughout the agency
  • Manage all orders placed with vendors from request to submission to accounts payable.
  • Willingness to learn and understand the Agency, partners, and community by performing work in a manner that upholds Wayne Metro policies, procedures, mission, and vision.

Social Media

  • Manage multiple social media accounts through messaging, content creation, timely response and data analysis.
  • Develop and optimize client and staff engagement through relevant, culturally competent, and compassionate and multiple languages across diverse platforms.
  • Strong knowledge and abilities in the use of basic internet applications and programs including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Hootsuite, Social Media Platforms, YouTube, Mailchimp, Canva, Adobe Suite, WordPress, Elementor and Zoom.
  • Strong ability to develop , draft, edit, design, deliver and analyze performance of correspondences, such as email campaigns, media materials, blogs, and social media posts.
  • Perform works in a professional manner that upholds Wayne Metro's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others.
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Graphic Design:

  • Design visually engaging graphics for print and digital platforms, including flyers, social media graphics, presentations, event materials, banners, signage, and promotional collateral.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all communication and marketing materials in alignment with Wayne Metro brand standards.
  • Collaborate with agency departments to develop creative concepts and materials that support campaigns, events, and community outreach efforts.
  • Ensure materials are culturally competent, audience-focused, and visually accessible across diverse communities.

Physical Requirements and Work Environments:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a professional office environment with a usually quiet noise level. This is largely an active role and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and frequently use hands to talk or hear.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Marketing, Business or Management or related major OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.
  • Experience in utilizing Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube Mailchimp and Zendesk.
  • Experience in graphic design & photography is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
  • Self-starter with the ability to function under tight deadlines, a fast-paced work environment, and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and take direction.
  • Ability to effectively communicate via phone, and gather, and record data using various computer programs.
