Location:

Denver, Colorado – Opportunity for occasional remote work when fully trained and oriented. Local travel to jobsites required (via driving).

Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify the Carlton Core – purpose and core values. Support company goals, growth, and development with a “field first” attitude.
  • Build and maintain strong, profitable customer relationships through regular communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Lead integrated project teams to deliver successful outcomes while ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Manage financial aspects of projects, including accurate cost estimates, budget adherence, and monthly reviews with the Controller and operations team.
  • Plan and execute projects to meet profitability, schedule, and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Manage and document change orders, ensuring proper approvals and scope adjustments.
  • Collaborate daily with construction operations, purchasing, and project coordination teams to ensure seamless teamwork.
  • Oversee projects valued at $2M-$5M+, demonstrating accuracy, efficiency, and enthusiasm.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Review customer contracts, ensuring a clear understanding of scope and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Know how to support the field (Our #1 priority for PMs here).
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • 5+ years of project management experience with electrical or mechanical contractors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and familiarity with project tools like Viewpoint/Spectrum, Bluebeam, and Procore.
  • Working knowledge of labor productivity tracking, cost-to-complete creation, and WIP (Work in Progress) schedules.
  • Excellent customer service and business communication skills.
  • Experience with scheduling software such as P6 or Microsoft Project preferred.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Electrical field experience or a journeyman electrician's license preferred.

Reporting:

The Project Manager reports to the Director of Construction Operations.

Compensation Package

  • Location: Denver, Colorado
  • Start Date: TBD
  • Status: Full-Time, Exempt
  • Schedule: Schedule: General working hours of Monday-Friday 7:00AM – 4:30PM. Flexible hours, but work may require nights and weekends depending on project needs.
  • Pay Rate: $100,000-$130,000+ depending on experience. *

*This pay rate is the good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of this job posting. Carlton Electric reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted rate if they believe the new range is determined in good faith. Carlton Electric reserves the right to adjust compensation based on, but not limited to, approved factors such as seniority, merit, quantity and/or quality systems, location, education and/or training, and required travel.
