Position Mission

The Creative Director supports the Director of Brand & Creative Services in bringing the organization’s brand vision to life across campaigns, content, and creative initiatives. This role supports the day-to-day execution of creative work, ensuring projects are delivered with excellence, consistency, and alignment with the organization’s brand strategy.

Working closely with the Brand Director, the Creative Director translates brand strategy and messaging into compelling visual and creative output across digital, print, video (where required), and campaign initiatives. This role also provides mentorship and guidance to the creative team and vendors, ensuring high-quality work while maintaining efficient creative workflows.

This position plays a key role in operationalizing the brand through design, storytelling, and creative production.

Position Responsibilities

Creative Execution & Direction

  • Execute and apply the creative vision established by the Director of Brand & Creative Services.
  • Lead/support the development of visual concepts and creative assets across campaigns, digital platforms, print, and video (where required).
  • Ensure all creative work aligns with established brand standards, messaging frameworks, and visual identity.
  • Review and provide direction on design and creative output to maintain a high standard of quality.

Project & Budget Management

  • Lead the planning, tracking, and execution of marketing projects, ensuring alignment with department priorities and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Finance and department leaders on budget planning, tracking, and reconciliation.
  • Prepare client-facing and departmental recap reports, presentations, and performance updates.
  • Manage marketing vendors and contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals, quality standards, and deadlines.

Team Mentorship & Support

  • Provide mentorship and feedback to designers and creative team members.
  • Help foster a collaborative, creative environment focused on excellence and growth.
  • Support the professional development of team members through coaching and constructive feedback.

Project Collaboration

  • Work closely with strategic marketing, digital marketing, and creative services teams to execute campaigns and content initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Director to translate strategic initiatives into creative deliverables.
  • Partner with project managers to ensure creative projects move efficiently through production.

Brand Stewardship

  • Support the ongoing maintenance and brand consistency across all brand expressions including digital, print, photography, video, and campaign assets.
  • Assist in maintaining and evolving brand guidelines and creative standards.
  • Ensure brand clarity and quality across all creative outputs.

Production and Vendor Collaboration

  • Support the Director of Brand in coordinating with external designers, photographers, and agencies when needed.
  • Help manage creative project capacity and support the Brand Director in production for campaigns, content shoots, and design initiatives.
  • Ensure external partners deliver work aligned with brand standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in design, art direction, or creative leadership roles.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand, digital, and campaign work.
  • Experience collaborating within marketing or communications teams.
  • Ability to translate strategic direction into clear creative execution.
  • Experience in mission-driven, nonprofit, or faith-based organizations.
  • Experience managing designers or creative teams.
  • Familiarity with creative production processes including photography, video, and digital design

Compensation & Benefits

For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000 - $95,000/year. This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.
