CORE OBJECTIVES
Execute the mission of Adult & Teen Challenge (ATC) in support of the vision and goals of the Board of Directors and the CEO. Work closely with ATC Affiliates to communicate the ministry vision, values, and strategy of ATC. Cultivate a healthy culture in the field.
The Engagement & Communications Manager will develop and execute the marketing and communications strategy for Adult & Teen Challenge USA, carrying the ministry's message to stakeholders and the general public. This role is hands-on; the right candidate will be eager to dive in, analyze data, fix problems, and proactively identify new strategies for growth. We value a team player! Communications
RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications planning. Build and steward an annual communications and engagement plan that carries the ministry's message to affiliates, alumni, referral partners, and the general public.
Storytelling and editorial. Own the editorial calendar and tell the ATC story in ways people respond to, drawing out accounts of transformation from students, alumni, and affiliates and shaping them into press releases, feature stories, blog posts, newsletters, infographics, and web copy that move donors and the public to give, refer, and get involved. Hold every piece to the ministry's style guide and voice.
Audience growth. Grow reach and participation across owned channels by segmenting audiences, testing messaging, and refining what earns a response.
Campaign delivery. Carry integrated campaigns from concept through launch across email, social, search, display, print, and broadcast, keeping timing and message consistent on every channel.
Website stewardship. Act as day-to-day owner of the ATC website - maintaining pages, improving navigation and layout, and partnering with search contractors to strengthen visibility and route visitors to the right resources
Program promotion. Create promotional materials, advertising, and launch communications that introduce ATC curriculum, programs, and services to new and existing audiences.
Event support. Prepare printed and digital pieces supporting events, conferences, and donor gatherings.
Audio and broadcast. Lead the ministry podcast - shaping episodes, coordinating production, and promoting releases- and place radio messaging with participating stations.
Partner coordination. Serve as point of contact for creative vendors, suppliers, media contacts, and outside contractors; brief them, review deliverables, and hold schedules.
Equipment stewardship. Own the ministry's camera, audio, and lighting inventory - tracking what is owned and where it is, keeping gear charged, maintained, and repaired, checking equipment in and out, and building and packing kits ahead of shoots and travel.
Insight and reporting. Track channel performance and audience trends, report results to the Advancement team, and recommend where to shift effort.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or a related field preferred
Three to five years of progressive marketing and/or communications experience, including strategy development and campaign execution
Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgets, vendors, or outside contractors; supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
Working knowledge of digital marketing channels and best practices, including SEO, email, social media, website content management, and analytics
Passionate about technology, with little fear of the "unknown" a must
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) a plus
Analytical and creative thinker; self-starter able to work independently and prioritize competing deadlines
A portfolio of work available for review
TRAVEL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Travel from time to time for shoots, conferences, events, center visits, and partner gatherings, including occasional overnight and weekend travel
Transport, set up, operate, and break down camera, audio, and lighting equipment on location
Prepare and pack equipment for air and ground travel, including cases, batteries, and cabling, in line with carrier and airline requirements
Regularly lift, carry, and position equipment and cases weighing up to 50 pounds
Stand, walk, kneel, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods during shoots and events
Maintain a valid driver's license and the ability to drive to and from shoot locations
