Entry-level creative jobs include positions for graphic designers, video creators, and marketers with no prior experience. In these junior positions, your duties are to work with a senior-level creative to learn how to design visual work like graphics, advertising, and videos. Since you carry out your responsibilities under a creative with more experience in these entry-level positions, you can build your portfolio while learning necessary design skills that can help you further your career. College students can find these jobs through their school as part of a paid or unpaid internship program or even a part-time job.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level Creative, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Creative, you typically need a strong grasp of design principles, creativity, and a portfolio demonstrating your work, often supported by a relevant degree or coursework. Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar platforms is highly valued. Strong communication, openness to feedback, and collaboration skills help you stand out in team-driven environments. These abilities are essential for producing compelling creative work, adapting to feedback, and contributing effectively to client and project goals.

What are some typical projects or tasks assigned to Entry Level Creatives in their first year?

Entry Level Creatives often start by assisting with brainstorming sessions, developing initial design concepts, and supporting more senior team members on larger campaigns. Job description

Creative Marketing & Sales Assistant

Uriah Products – Springfield, MO

Uriah Products is looking for a creative, dependable, and motivated person to join our Sales & Marketing team.

This is a hands-on position that supports a little bit of everything - social media, marketing projects, product photography, trade shows, customer communication, and general sales support. We are a smaller local team, so we are looking for someone who is flexible, self-motivated, willing to learn, and comfortable helping wherever needed.

One day you may be helping create social media content or photographing products. Another day may involve helping prepare for a trade show, organizing marketing materials, assisting with customer communication, or supporting office projects. No two days are exactly the same.

We work closely with our international team and manufacturing partners throughout Asia while supporting customers and retailers across the U.S. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain real-world experience and grow professionally in sales, marketing, and business operations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with marketing and sales projects
  • Help create content for social media and websites
  • Assist with product photography and basic video content
  • Support trade show preparation and travel
  • Help with presentations, spreadsheets, and customer communication
  • Assist with office and organizational projects as needed
Preferred Skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office experience
  • Familiarity with social media platforms
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Creative mindset and willingness to learn
  • Basic photo/video editing experience is a plus

Entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply. We are more interested in finding someone with a positive attitude, reliability, creativity, and willingness to grow with our team than someone with extensive corporate experience.

Benefits & Opportunities
  • Growth opportunities within the company
  • Hands-on experience across multiple areas of business
  • Team-oriented work environment
  • Trade show and travel opportunities
  • Exposure to marketing, sales, and product development

Selected candidates will be contacted for an interview and possible follow-up meeting based on experience and position fit.
