Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Bass Pro Shop is looking for a highly motivated and creatively inspiring Senior Digital Creative Designer. The role of the Senior Digital Creative Designer will be responsible for the initial concept and development of engaging creative for Bass Pro digital channels that include but are not limited to homepages, emails, site assets, social media, and additional site projects. This position calls for a strong sense of design, the ability to take and lead initiatives, an understanding of brand storytelling through product and ideas, and have a natural ability to work well amongst a team. The candidate should have experience working within the responsive digital space, excellent concepting and problem-solving skills, present work at a high level, and positively take critical feedback. This position participates in interactive strategy discussions, needs little supervision, and inspires others to excel. The Senior Digital Creative Designer will assist in guiding team members to coordinate the creative development for web projects and follow-up on work to ensure deadlines are met. The successful candidate has a passion for digital design, pushes for innovation, strives for new creative challenges, and encourages collaboration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Creative Design 70%
  • Take part in the initial concept and designs for digital promotional creative for but not limited to (homepages, emails, paid social and display ads)
  • Collaborate in the development of digital concepts for multiple digital channels
  • Guide the process and assist in setting the tone for creative expectations
  • Assist in mentoring and guiding digital design team
  • Design within the set brand aesthetic for consistent look and feel (layout, typography, color, and graphics)
  • Lead in the preparation of necessary mock-ups/prototypes for creative reviews
  • Lead and ensure design team standards and creative expectations are meet throughout the creative process to execution
  • Collaborate closely with Creative Manager in the implementation of designs and creative processes
  • Work with multiple departments (digital merchants, marketing, designers, developers, etc.) in the development of strong creative content
  • Support special projects

Working with HTML and CSS within internal content management systems (CMS) 25%
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED 5%
  • Internal digital creative support

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: Associate Degree in Web design, Graphic design or related field
Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Web design, Graphic design or related field
Experience: 4 to 6+ years
Must have an online portfolio
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
  • Passion for digital design with strong attention to details
  • Approach design both creatively and strategically
  • In-depth working knowledge of Adobe Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, and AEM)
  • Front-end coding experience (HTML & CSS), JavaScript nice to have but not required
  • Must have a strong eye for digital design (layout, typography, color, iconography, and imagery selection)
  • Ability to develop and present concept while balancing established brand style guides
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience with responsive web design and best practices
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to take creative direction and receive feedback in a positive manner
  • Must have a team-first mentality
