Job Purpose:
As Director of Brand & Creative, you will define and scale the Vego Garden brand into a category-defining lifestyle company. You will own brand strategy, creative direction, and customer experience across every touchpoint - building a cohesive high-performing brand that drives both emotional connections and measurable growth.
Essential Responsibilities:
Strategic Brand Leadership
  • Brand Strategy: Develop and lead a clear brand roadmap that positions Vego Garden as the leading name in modern, sustainable gardening across digital and physical touchpoints.
  • Brand Positioning: Evolve our narrative beyond product features into a lifestyle-driven story centered on the joy of growing, harvesting, and eating your own food.
  • Brand Stewardship: Own and evolve our visual identity and voice, ensuring consistency and excellence across all channels-from website to packaging to retail.
  • Social Strategy: Define the role of each social platform to drive audience growth, engagement, and conversion while maintaining a cohesive brand presence.
  • Digital Experience (UX/UI): Drive the roadmap for our digital experience, ensuring that storytelling and usability are harmonized to optimize navigation, storytelling, and conversion.

Content & Creative Direction
  • Content Strategy: Set the editorial vision and seasonal content themes across channels, building a scalable engine for high-quality video, photography, and written content.
  • Copy & Messaging: Establish and govern the global brand voice, providing the strategic framework for all written communication to ensure it inspires, educates, and drives action.
  • UGC & Social Proof: Develop a strategy that elevates real customer stories, making gardening approachable and building trust with new audiences.
  • Creative Performance: Align creative strategy with Growth objectives, overseeing the development of high-performing assets for paid channels (Meta, TikTok, YouTube) that balance aggressive conversion targets with brand integrity.

Go-to-Market & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Product Launches: Lead end-to-end brand and creative for product launches, from positioning and messaging to multi-channel rollout.
  • Cross-Channel Consistency: Ensure a cohesive brand experience across all customer touchpoints, including paid media, lifecycle (email/SMS), website, retail, and post-purchase.
  • Physical Experience: Direct the creative vision for all physical brand touchpoints and packaging, ensuring a premium, cohesive unboxing experience that reinforces brand loyalty.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary creative team (design, copy, social, etc.), balancing hands-on creative direction with strategic prioritization.

Community & Marketing Awareness
  • Customer Advocacy: Leverage reviews, community feedback, and behavioral data to identify friction points and inform brand and product decisions.
  • Competitive & Cultural Awareness: Stay ahead of trends in home, garden, and sustainable living to keep the brand relevant and differentiated.

Growth, Retention & Performance
  • Brand + Growth Alignment: Partner with Growth to ensure performance marketing, lifecycle campaigns, and influencer efforts are fully aligned with brand standards.
  • Retention Storytelling: Help shape seasonal and lifecycle messaging that strengthens engagement and long-term customer loyalty.
  • Performance & Analytics: Track brand health and key DTC metrics (CAC, ROAS, conversion rate, branded search), ensuring creative work drives measurable impact.
  • Testing & Optimization: Continuously test messaging, formats, and creative approaches to improve performance and deepen customer resonance.

Requirements
Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience: 8-12+ years in brand, creative, or marketing leadership roles. Background in scaling a DTC or lifestyle brand from growth stage to maturity. Experience in the home/garden sector is a significant plus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or Design (MBA is a plus but not required).
  • Leadership: 3-5+ years managing creative or brand teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Storytelling Maven: Proven ability to build a community-led brand and turn complex products into accessible, aspirational lifestyle stories.
  • Data-Literate: You understand the "why" behind the data and can speak the language of both high-level creative and granular performance marketing.
  • Organizational Mastery: Proven ability to manage a complex, multi-layered marketing calendar with expert-level proficiency, you thrive on creating the systems that allow creativity to scale.

Physical Demands:
This position involves working both indoors at a desk and outdoors in a farm setting. Must be able to operate a computer for prolonged periods with moderate walking, standing, lifting, carrying, moving objects, reaching and crouching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Exposure to outdoor environments including hot and cold temperatures and humidity.
Job Location and Work Schedule:
  • This is a full-time, hybrid position with 4 days on-site.
  • Remote-eligible with a 25% travel requirement (typically one week per month) for on-site collaboration.
  • This position will work at two locations:
  • Headquarters location: 13808 Boudreaux Road, Bldg. #2, Tomball, TX.
  • Farmhouse location: 22503 Lain Road, Spring, TX.
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
