Job description

Summary The Falcon Communications Director will lead student-led communication efforts for BG Falcon Media, including promotions, public relations, strategic communications and marketing as well as cultivating and supporting outside clients. Career Readiness Competencies Seek feedback from supervisors and apply it to improve performance. Set personal goals and track progress toward them.

Take initiative to learn new tools, systems, or procedures on the job. Participate in campus training or workshops to build skills. Maintain a positive, growth-oriented mindset when facing challenges.

Ask questions to gain clarity on job expectations and responsibilities. Essential Functions Works with Falcon Media Manager, Associate Director and Creative Director to support: External customers. Best of BG, including encouraging student voting through email marketing and social media and content creation for the magazine.

Housing Guides, including email marketing and social media and content creation for the magazines. Homecoming tab, including promotion, social media and content creation. Works with Falcon Media Manager, Falcon Radio adviser, Falcon Radio operations manager and creative director to both build awareness of Falcon Radio and increase student participation.

Works with Falcon Media executive team to create plans to elevate visibility of our platforms, content and services. Works with Falcon Media Manager to support alumni engagement efforts including alumni blog content creation, email marketing, Homecoming and One Day. Recruit and lead volunteer staff.

Attend weekly BG Falcon Media executive meetings. Meet weekly with Falcon Media Manager. Minimum Qualifications Preferred majors: Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing Demonstrated understanding of basic public relations practices and knowledge of the University and community Minimum GPA: 2.25 Additional Information This role requires approximately 8 hours per week during each semester with flexibility to align with academic schedule

Stipend: $1,900 annually, intended to support educational learning outcomes. This internship is eligible for academic credit with approval from student's program/college. Bowling Green State University is an equal opportunity employer.
