Job description

Do you want to do work that matters, alongside supportive leaders who will help you grow faster than you ever thought possible? Are you a creative problem-solver who is energized by challenges? You've come to the right place.
YOUR IMPACT
Technology and AI are among the firm's highest strategic priorities, reshaping industries and redefining how clients create value.
As a member of the Winning With Technology Practice Marketing leadership team, leading R&E for QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey, you will help define how we show up in the market-articulating our distinctive AI capabilities and strengthening our leadership position in technology-enabled transformation.
You will join a group of communications professionals within the firm's Reach and Engagement (R&E) function. These colleagues help ensure that appropriate insights reach designated audiences, delivering tailored, impactful messaging to build awareness and engagement with McKinsey's distinctive knowledge across a variety of topics. They shape the way the firm connects with people-from clients to employees to alumni-strengthening institutional relationships, connections, and affiliations.
Through leadership across communications initiatives, you will drive the development and execution of best-in-class global communications programs, events, and publications that will enable client activation and funnel building across all channels. By leveraging strategic project briefs, data-driven insights, and a deep understanding of audience needs, you will ensure communications efforts are aligned with the firm's priorities and deliver measurable impact. You will be a thought partner for senior leaders and partners and work to strengthen external relationships. You will proactively shape creative communications content and tactics to showcase McKinsey's capabilities, knowledge, and assets. You will maintain McKinsey's reputation, punctuate its expertise, and bring campaigns to life in relevant ways across channels, platforms, and stakeholders.
You will serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders and partners, helping define how we position our technology and AI capabilities externally and strengthening relationships across the ecosystem. You will shape and execute creative communications strategies that elevate McKinsey's and QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey's expertise, protect the firm's reputation, and translate strategic priorities into compelling campaigns across channels. You will be based in a North America location.
In the context of creating effective communications: you will drive high-quality writing and editing by leading/enabling teams to develop clear, structured, and engaging written communications (e.g., memos, emails, short-form content, blogs, talking points/scripts, Q&A) that rigorously follow conventions of written English (and local languages when relevant). With cell leaders, you'll manage the firm's reputational risk by mapping strengths and weaknesses and opportunities/threats. You will anticipate, identify, and respond to reputation risk issues to protect and enhance McKinsey's reputation by reviewing materials and proactively shaping narrative. You'll establish high-quality, consistent branding (i.e., the firm's signature voice, visuals, and narrative) across communications platforms and channels to support relevant brand pivots, ensuring resonance with target audiences and alignment with broader strategic objectives.
In the context of team management and creation: you will play the role of a thought-partner for senior leaders and partners in developing networking programs to strengthen relationships with clients, potential clients and media, and drive meaningful impact through execution and delivery. You'll independently define and direct complex communication strategies and advance short-term and long-term programs. You will influence and gain buy-in from leaders and stakeholders by leveraging data-driven insights and a deep understanding of audience needs and behaviors.
You will effectively and independently manage large-scale, often global, interdependent, complex projects/initiatives, actively using project briefs to align teams and ensure strategic focus. You'll manage the development and dissemination of external and/or internal websites and publications. You will develop and execute reputation-building programs through a mix of publishing activities (e.g., monitoring of media relations and public relations, targeted knowledge dissemination).
You'll identify, secure, and manage regional partnerships with internal or external stakeholders. You'll build a network of key editors, journalists, policymakers, senior executives, and academics; work with partners to strengthen relationships with these audiences.
You will develop a strategy and corresponding metrics to measure impact, and implement related data-collection and reporting mechanisms, applying analysis to optimize decision-making and outreach strategies across the marketing funnel, following the firm's unified measurement guidelines and frameworks. You'll foster a collaborative, inclusive environment for the team while empowering individuals to be innovative and performance driven. You'll counsel leadership and leverage their efforts for substantive contributions to the firm's reputation; mobilize relevant junior and senior colleagues across the firm and manage relevant initiatives to maximize outcomes.
YOUR GROWTH
